Randy Orton has been showcasing his “killer” instinct since brutally beating down Cody Rhodes during their Undisputed WWE Championship contract signing for WrestleMania 42.
Then on the March 20 edition of WWE SmackDown, Orton added Matt Cardona to his list of victims with another vicious attack that saw him destroy the former Zack Ryder’s arm.
With several weeks to go before Mania, it begs the question who could possibly be next for Orton’s path of destruction ahead of going for number 15 in Las Vegas.
Here are six more WWE stars to be potentially attacked by Randy Orton.
6. Nick Aldis
Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Randy Orton was pulled from the card following Kevin Owens revealing he was unable to compete due to a serious neck injury.
This led to Orton laying out Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis with a RKO.
Many fans believed this attack would lead to Aldis putting his boots back on and stepping back into the squared circle, but it was not meant to be.
After pushing him down during the initial attack on Cody Rhodes, Orton could lay out Aldis next and show that no one is safe, not even authority figures.
5. Jelly Roll
Back at WWE SummerSlam 2025, Randy Orton teamed with his friend and country music star Jelly Roll in a tag team match against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul.
However, Orton snapping to brutally assault Cody Rhodes saw him also push down the Grammy Award winner.
This led to Orton apologizing to Jelly, who gave his friend some advice and told him that this isn’t who he is. Jelly told Orton that he was a good man that did not need to listen to the voices like he has done in the past and needed to make things right with Matt Cardona.
Following Orton not really listening to this advice with his attack on Cardona, fans could see “The Legend Killer” adding Jelly Roll to his list of victims next.
4. Shawn Spears
Randy Orton attacking Matt Cardona was sending a message to Cody Rhodes, who is close friends with the former Zack Ryder.
“The Viper” could continue his assaults on Rhodes’ friends and take aim at someone else on the WWE roster.
Orton heading to WWE NXT could see him take out a number of different names, but no one has known Cody as long as Shawn Spears.
Despite his status as a heel on the NXT brand, Spears could be in danger if Orton wants to send a message to Rhodes by way of a brutal attack on The Culling leader ahead of WrestleMania 42.

3. Ricky Saints
Another member of the WWE NXT brand who knows Cody Rhodes very well in and outside of the ring is Ricky Saints.
Making his AEW debut in 2020, Saints competed in the ring with Rhodes. From there, the two men developed a close knit friendship that has been seen on several different occasions.
Randy Orton could alter Saints’ career if he decides to target one of Cody’s best friends in the business.
While Saints is also a heel on NXT, it feels like Orton could deliver a firm message that he is willing to take out anyone and everyone in Rhodes’ life by going after Ricky Saints.
2. Sami Zayn
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul, Trick Williams, LA Knight and Je’Von Evans to win the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match.
After earning his shot at WrestleMania 42, Orton was approached by Sami Zayn, who wanted to know how “The Legend Killer” was able to put his friendship with Rhodes aside to get the opportunity that everyone wanted.
While Orton tried to give him some advice, Zayn questioned his actions with the heel turn on Rhodes on the March 13 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
To show everyone that they should not think twice about his decisions, Orton could choose to lay out Sami Zayn next and send another message to his WrestleMania 42 opponent.
1. Kevin Owens
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens formed a friendship that saw the duo assist their mutual friend Cody Rhodes in his rivalry with Solo Sikoa and The New Bloodline back in 2024.
However, Owens’ frustration with not beating Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship led to him turning on Orton and injuring with a piledriver. This led to “The Viper” returning and setting the stage for a bout at WrestleMania 41 in 2025.
Despite everything being set, Owens would go on to reveal that he had suffered a serious neck injury that required surgery and thus his Mania match with Orton was cancelled as a result.
Orton could show that he does not care about the physical state of his victims by deciding to assault a still sidelined Kevin Owens, sending a message to Rhodes that he remembers everything and knows their friendship has been reconciled with KO’s recent hiatus.
