With the confirmation that WWE’s AJ Styles will appear on the debut episode of TNA Wrestling Impact on AMC, there could be more former names set to appear as well.
From legendary figures, to recent champions, there could be some fun returns set for the debut edition of the new series.
Here are five more former TNA Wrestling stars to return for the AMC network debut of Thursday Night Impact.
5. Mickie James
One of the most notable names to be linked to TNA Wrestling, newly minted TNA Hall of Fame 2025 inductee Mickie James would be the perfect person to return to the brand for the debut of Thursday Night Impact on AMC.
With historic contributions to the Knockouts division across three different spells, James is certainly a talent that could be recognized for all their contributions to TNA Wrestling.
Certainly a foundational member of the modern Knockouts division, Mickie James is always a fun person see make a return to TV screens.
Able to be on hand to make an announcement or even just interact with other alums backstage, it would be amazing to see some “Hardcore Country” in Dallas, TX.

4. Bobby Roode
While WWE fans regard him highly for his time in NXT and the main roster, longtime fans are aware that Bobby Roode had a long spell in TNA Wrestling before arriving in WWE.
Having an acclaimed run in TNA Wrestling that spanned from 2004 to 2016 and included winning the TNA Tag Team Championship six times and TNA World Heavyweight Title twice, Roode is a bonafide legend in the promotion.
Although he remains a creative force behind the scenes in WWE, Roode would be a fun former TNA Wrestling star that could pop up for the debut episode.
Recently having made an on-screen appearance over on NXT in a backstage segment where he met Joe Hendry, it would certainly make sense to see Roode pop up on the debut edition of Thursday Night Impact on AMC.

3. Jordynne Grace
While TNA Wrestling has certainly been around for decades, it was the efforts of a recent group of talent that brought eyes to the brand.
While others who are currently signed to AEW like Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie are unlikely to be able to be in attendance for the event (or at least, perhaps unlikely to be shown on-screen) there could still be some appearances from recent former Knockouts.
Able to appear in a segment alongside the likes of Michin and Chelsea Green to reflect on their time in TNA Wrestling, the trio could have an amazing backstage segment at the debut.
Each having unique careers in TNA Wrestling, there could be nostalgic memories that of course end in some kind of comeuppance for Green if she got too out of line with her fellow Knockouts alums.

2. Kurt Angle
A top name with a legendary TNA Wrestling tenure under his belt, perhaps Impact’s debut on AMC could see the return of Kurt Angle.
Able to utilize his mainstream appeal, Angle could definitely make any number of on-screen appearances and get the crowd excited about the event.
Having largely stayed away from the limelight in recent years, Angle has returned to the industry as he serves as a co-owner and color commentator for Real American Freestyle Wrestling.
Potentially giving exposure to the growing brand in addition to paying homage to his time in TNA, it would be an enjoyable return to see Kurt Angle get blasted by “You Suck!” chants on January 15.

1. Jeff Jarrett
As an outside shot, there could be an appearance on the debut episode of Thursday Night Impact from current AEW stars that were foundational to TNA Wrestling’s history.
While Samoa Joe and Sting were two of the company’s most legendary names, there was arguably nobody more synonymous with TNA than Jeff Jarrett.
While possible, it would seem highly improbable that any currently contracted AEW talent would be featured on-screen for the debut event, despite Jarrett being a no brainer if it were possible.
With TNA Wrestling squarely WWE affiliated, there will probably not be any AEW surprises on the AMC debut but as ever in professional wrestling — never say never.
