More AEW Stars To Join Jon Moxley’s Death Riders

AEW Death Riders members Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir and Daniel Garcia

On the September 10 edition of AEW Dynamite, Daniel Garcia seemingly joined The Death Riders, aiding Jon Moxley and attacking Darby Allin.

This alignment with Moxley had been teased for weeks on AEW programming.

Garcia now joins Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, the still-injured PAC, and NJPW’s Gabe Kidd as members of the faction – but who else could be next to join the Death Riders?

Here are five potential new members.

5. Kris Statlander

While Daniel Garcia may be the latest star encouraged to join the Death Riders after Jon Moxley inflicted two straight losses on him, a longer-term storyline has seen the faction trying to woo Kris Statlander.

Since June, Statlander has repeatedly run into Moxley backstage, with the veteran offering her encouragement that has left her visibly conflicted.

On the September 6 edition of AEW Collision, she even scored a pinfall using Wheeler Yuta’s seatbelt pin, planting clear seeds of a move to the group.

While it appears Statlander is about to join, just as likely given her current popularity is that this is a swerve  – leading instead to her reforming her team with Willow Nightingale.

4. Drilla Moloney

Before Daniel Garcia, the most recent recruitment into the Death Riders was New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Gabe Kidd.

In NJPW, Kidd is a member of the Bullet Club War Dogs alongside fellow standout British talent Drilla Moloney.

Over the summer, Moloney impressed in NJPW’s G1-Climax tournament, delivering a slew of outstanding performances.

Like Kidd, Moloney is an uber-intense in-ring worker with raw charisma, making him a natural fit to soon join his stablemate in the Death Riders.

3. The Young Bucks

On the September 10 edition of AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks teamed with the Death Riders to defeat Brodido and The Opps.

This was not the first time the Bucks had fought alongside the group, having aligned with the Death Riders back in May – most notably at Double or Nothing’s Anarchy in the Arena and again in the Lights Out Cage Match at Forbidden Door.

Given this ongoing relationship, it raises the question of whether they could officially join the faction.

That seems unlikely given that the Bucks don’t match the Death Riders’ vibe, but their informal alliance appears set to continue.

2. HOOK

HOOK recently made his return to AEW television after recovering from the concussion he suffered back in April.

Since coming back, he has notably chosen not to reunite with his former faction, The Opps.

On the September 10 edition of Dynamite, the 26-year-old teased in a pre-recorded video that it was time for him to stand on his own – “or maybe not.”

Could this be the first seeds being planted for HOOK joining the Death Riders?

1. Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler’s WWE non-compete is now over following her release in May, though it remains to be seen where the former MMA star will land.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the 45-year-old acknowledged the possibility of joining AEW, noting her close friendship with Death Rider Marina Shafir.

Vibe-wise, Baszler fits the group perfectly, bringing authenticity with her MMA-based moveset and a palpable intensity.

More likely than Kris Statlander joining the Death Riders is the appearance of Baszler herself.
