WWE Main Roster Stars To Get Drafted To NXT

WWE Main Roster Stars To Get Drafted To NXT

WWE’s main roster currently has a wealth of talent that are without direction heading into the latter half of the Summer.

While fans would hope to see these absentee names show back up on Raw or SmackDown television in a prominent way, oftentimes NXT is a better option to hit the reset button and allow them to build a new, stronger foundation.

Here are five WWE stars to potentially get drafted to NXT.

5. LWO

If making a tier list of WWE’s current factions, the Latino World Order would almost certainly be near the bottom when it comes to their position and importance within the company.

When Rey Mysterio is fit and healthy, they have been somewhat featured. However, since the legendary Hall of Famer suffered a torn groin on the SmackDown before WrestleMania, Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde have been largely absent.

Wilde is currently dealing with an injury so that may explain their recent absence somewhat, but even then its difficult to imagine them playing an important role on Monday Night Raw.

While it may be time to simply pull the plug on the group and send them their separate ways, a move to NXT would no doubt improve their fortunes, with all three stars having success on the brand in the past.

4. New Catch Republic

Ever since returning from injury on the March 31 episode of WWE Raw, Tyler Bate has found himself almost exclusively appearing on WWE’s c-show Main Event, with New Catch Republic tag team partner Pete Dunne not having much better fortune.

The two English stars are among the most gifted in-ring performers on the roster, however, both have struggled to connect with the main roster audience in a significant way.

While they are both still very young and have time to turn their fortunes around, a temporary move back to their familiar stomping grounds of NXT may be the best course of action for both Dunne and Bate.

With NXT’s men’s singles and tag team ranks both in need of a refresh, New Catch Republic could be give a new lease on life on Tuesday nights once again.

3. Shinsuke Nakamura

Despite receiving a big character refresh in 2024, which even saw him capture the WWE United States Championship from LA Knight at Survivor Series, Shinsuke Nakamura is once again lost in the wilderness in WWE at present.

While it arguably feels like Nakamura’s character may be beyond salvage at this point, a move to NXT could provide far more success than he will ever have by remaining on SmackDown.

A former two-time NXT Champion, the fans at the Performance Center would throughly welcome the return of the Japanese legend, especially if it comes with a reset back to his old presentation from when he first arrived in WWE.

Instead of letting Nakamura languish away in the background, hopefully WWE give him one last chance at success on Tuesday nights.

2. Austin Theory

Positioned as WWE’s next main event level star for the future just three years ago, in 2025 Austin Theory truly couldn’t feel any further away from that spot.

WWE’s prolonging of his breakup with Grayson Waller has done neither man any favors, and the longer WWE delay the inevitable, the less effective a babyface turn for Theory will likely be.

While there’s little doubt that WWE will eventually pull the trigger, instead of sending Theory to the lower mid-card of Raw or SmackDown, it may instead be better for WWE to build him up again from NXT.

NXT is in need of new stars in the men’s division, and Theory very easily could step up as the next challenger to North American Champion Ethan Page now that he’s seemingly done with Ricky Saints.

1. Natalya

WWE star Natalya

Undergoing a career renaissance outside of WWE as “Nattie Neidhart”, it sadly doesn’t seem like that momentum is going to be capitalised on, on WWE television anytime soon.

“The Living Legend” is currently paired with Maxxine Dupri as The Dungeon Dolls, a run that hasn’t quite gotten off the ground despite the storyline being introduced months ago.

While WWE could rectify this by using Natalya and Dupri in the currently sparse women’s tag team division post-WWE Evolution, many fans would likely prefer to see “Nattie Neidhart” show up in NXT.

Considering the strength of the NXT women’s ranks, the prospect of seeing Nattie add to that is certainly an exciting one.
