With John Cena making only four more appearances in WWE before retiring from in-ring competition, there are WWE Raw rivalries left to explore.
From those he has never faced before but that might step up to challenge the legendary Cena to others that have a long history with the 17x World Champ — there could be some interesting faces appearing to challenge Cena on November 10.
Here are eight WWE stars that John Cena could face on the November 10th edition of WWE Raw from his hometown of Boston.
8. Julius Creed

If anyone on the roster could capture the initial energy, look and youthful ambition from John Cena’s debut challenge to Kurt Angle — it is Julius Creed.
With an impressive physique, athleticism and speed, Creed could be an ideal showcase against Cena who could obviously win, but notably be impressed by the young talent.
With the Creed Brothers lacking a storyline since Chad Gable has been out of action due to injury, having a moment between Julius and Cena could be a fun reminder of the abilities of American Made.
Definitely a roster member with hugely untapped potential, Julius Creed could benefit from a major opportunity to show his skills on WWE Raw.

7. Austin Theory

One current roster member that holds a major victory over Cena is Austin Theory who beat Cena at WrestleMania 39.
Despite the victory though, many fans remember the feud for Cena deriding Theory in an on-screen exchange back in February 2023 on WWE Raw that eviscerated his character’s persona by noting no one cared about him because he wasn’t believable.
Notably after that night in Boston’s TD Garden, Theory’s run as a viable heel singles star failed to recover. He would lose the US Title to Rey Mysterio in August 2023. Theory would continue being a heel but tipping more towards the comedic nuisance rather than dangerous threat in the tag team A-Town Down Under with Grayson Waller.
However since Theory has been off TV since summer (explained on-screen as due to injury), he has been rumored to be joining the heel squad for the upcoming men’s WarGames match — it could be that a return is near.

6. Matt Hardy

Although their time in WWE definitely overlapped, there is an interesting statistic about Cena’s career record over Matt Hardy.
While John Cena has tangled in one-on-one action with Jeff Hardy — he has never faced Matt Hardy in singles competition.
Interestingly only facing Jeff Hardy once in singles action, either Hardy would be a fun and meaningful match for WWE fans to see from Cena before he retires.
With Matt and Jeff Hard both reportedly contracted with TNA Wrestling for a bit longer, it could be that the return of the nostalgic fan favorite Hardys ends up coming after the departure of John Cena.

5. Rusev

One current WWE Raw roster member with history with John Cena is the recently returned to WWE star, Rusev.
While seemingly returning initially as a bit of a heel — attacking fan favorites Alpha Academy for instance — Rusev would go on to have a feud against Sheamus that seemingly tipped him back towards being a babyface.
With both Rusev and PENTA coming very close to beating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it could be that Cena has to win his title shot against Dirty Dom by first taking out either Rusev or PENTA.
Offering two incredible options for one-on-one bouts with Cena ahead of his retirement, the history between Cena and Rusev tips the scales towards their rivalry.

4. Xavier Woods

A potential foe for John Cena that could use the showcase to demonstrate how underutilized he is as a performer is Xavier Woods
With the longtime WWE veteran spending most of his career as a babyface, he has only faced Cena once in a match that ended in DQ.
It would be equally fun to see John Cena have a one-off bout with Woods’ New Day tag team partner Kofi Kingston — who has never had a singles bout against Cena.
Potentially planting the seeds for Woods’ own future World title run — as the only member of the New Day to never have captured the gold on his own — one farewell dance with Cena could start off a whole new ambition for The New Day and Grayson Waller.

3. GUNTHER

GUNTHER has been out of WWE action since dropping the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk at SummerSlam 2025.
Although he has been described as “out of action indefinitely” due to injuries sustained in the match, it seems that GUNTHER’s legitimate issues may be resolved and instead his return awaits the perfect storyline moment.
While rumors persist that it will ultimately be GUNTHER who returns, enters the tournament and wins it all in order to face John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event — it would be far more compelling to just see the two tangle right away on WWE Raw.
With GUNTHER able to simply return on WWE Raw to interrupt Cena’s address to his hometown crowd in Boston, the Ring General could skip the line entirely to try and end Cena’s farewell tour early.

2. Bron Breakker

With WWE Raw on November 10 coming live to fans from Boston’s TD Garden, certainly whoever chooses to target John Cena will be met with disdain.
A moment that could continue to cement Bron Breakker as a threatening heel in WWE, Breakker could be intent on ruining Cena’s hometown good vibes with a dastardly interruption.
While Bron Breakker is occupied with all of the drama surrounding The Vision at the minute, perhaps he will take offense to Cena attempting to take over WWE Raw.
Potentially challenging Cena as a means to get on with the show, the actual match between a legend and someone touted as the future of the business could be incredible albeit without the stakes of it being Cena’s final bout.

1. Sheamus

One familiar old foe on WWE Raw could take one of his final opportunities to target Cena might be Sheamus.
Cementing their rivalry when Sheamus captured his first Undisputed Championship from Cena in an upset win at TLC 2009.
With both Cena and Sheamus still chasing the Intercontinental Championship as the final missing piece in their respective WWE Grand Slams — Sheamus could definitely be opposed to Cena potentially hopping the line to face Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series as rumored.
Possibly having a number one contenders match on WWE Raw, there could be a viable storyline reason to see two veteran favorites have another singles bout.
