After a 23-year run that has seen as the face of the show on multiple occasions, John Cena is set to make his final WWE Raw appearance on the November 17 episode from Madison Square Garden.
After Cena beat Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship on the November 10 Raw, there is the opportunity for the company to give the legend one last match on his final WWE TV appearance.
Cena walking into MSG should be a memorable night with one final match or segment that fans will surely never forget for a long time.
Here are eight potential John Cena opponents on his final WWE Raw.
8. Dominik Mysterio
On the November 10 edition of WWE Raw, John Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Thanks to this win, Cena is now officially a Grand Slam Champion in WWE and has the chance to retire as a champion.
After his loss, Mysterio will surely be looking for his rematch and may want it as soon as the week after being dethroned.
“Dirty Dom” coming out for his rematch on the WWE Raw from Madison Square Garden could see him finding a way to recapture the I.C. Title once again.

7. Rey Mysterio
Following his victory over Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship, John Cena was greeted by a litany of babyfaces backstage to congratulate, which included Rey Mysterio.
Thanking Cena for giving his son a well deserved beating, the WWE Hall of Famer showed his disdain for Dominik’s attitude as of late.
With the John Cena retirement tour winding down, this WWE Raw appearance could be the last time for someone like Rey Mysterio to get another shot at redemption against the record-breaking 17-time WWE Champion.
Mysterio challenging Cena for the I.C. Title on WWE Raw from Madison Square Garden would give the fans one final showdown with an iconic star on this retirement tour in front of a hot crowd in New York City.

6. Finn Balor
Now that John Cena has won the WWE Intercontinental Championship, he has the chance to bring back the open challenge one final time.
Back in 2015, Cena had one of the most memorable United States Title runs in history with his signature U.S. Open Challenge putting a huge spotlight on the gold.
Cena coming out to challenge anyone in the back could set the stage for The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor to answer the call.
Looking to avenge his stablemate Dominik Mysterio’s loss and his own against the legend from 2018, Balor could be the right opponent who will be extremely motivated to dethrone Cena in Madison Square Garden.

Taking the company by storm, Penta is firmly solidified as one of the most popular babyfaces on the entire WWE roster who has formed a fast connection with the fans in a major way.
With the November 17 episode of WWE Raw being John Cena’s final appearance, the company could give Penta the opportunity against the current Intercontinental Champion.
After failing to dethrone Dominik Mysterio on several occasions, Penta beating Cena to win the I.C. Title in Madison Square Garden will feel like a true coronation where the company crowns him and shows how much value they see in him.

Cena stated that the upcoming special will feature exhibition matches between stars from the WWE main roster facing off with talent from NXT.
Wanting to lead by example, Cena could choose to make an open challenge for the Intercontinental Championship to anyone on the NXT roster on the November 17 episode of Monday Night Raw.

3. Rematch against Brock Lesnar
At WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025, Brock Lesnar defeated John Cena in convincing fashion with six F-5s. Lesnar then added insult to injury with a seventh F-5 post match.
After disappointing his fans with this heartbreaking loss, it feels like a huge piece of unfinished business for this retirement tour.
Cena challenging Lesnar should happen in one of these final three appearances to get his revenge before he officially retires.
Whether it be calling out Lesnar or facing him right then and there in Madison Square Garden, the November 17 WWE Raw could see Cena do battle with his rival of the past two decades in one final collision course that fans will never forget.

Instead of being John Cena’s next opponent, CM Punk could reveal John Cena’s next opponents.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, CM Punk defeated Jey Uso to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Following this victory, Punk called out several different names on the roster to get their chance at his championship, including his longtime rival John Cena.
However, Punk’s focus is now set on WWE Survivor Series 2025 where he will lead a team consisting of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso against Logan Paul and The Vision in the Men’s WarGames Match.
The November 17 episode of Raw could see Punk call out Cena, but not for a match and instead to offer him a spot to fight alongside him in what would be the 17-time WWE Champion’s first and only WarGames Match at Survivor Series.
