Jacob Fatu has played a major role on the road to WrestleMania 42 since making his return on the January 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Fans have seen Fatu actively involved in the Undisputed WWE Championship picture and consistently at odds with top stars, such as Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes.
While he has been in the main event picture, Fatu sees himself without an established path to Mania after losing his Elimination Chamber qualifying match a few weeks back.
With the event fast approaching, here are seven potential Jacob Fatu WWE WrestleMania 42 plans.
7. Get Into the WWE Title Match with Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre

On the January 9 episode of SmackDown, Jacob Fatu made his return and got involved in the Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre Three Stages of Hell Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Attacking both men, it was Fatu who caused enough of a distraction for McIntyre to escape the cage and walk out with the WWE Title.
Since then, Fatu has brawled with Rhodes and McIntyre week after week whether it be on SmackDown or at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and Royal Rumble 2026.
While Cody has a chance to earn his spot against Drew at WrestleMania 42, Fatu will have to try everything in his power and could potentially get his way into the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

6. Facing Sami Zayn

On the February 13 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Sami Zayn and Jacob Fatu to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber.
While Fatu initially blamed Drew McIntyre for his involvement during the bout, “The Samoan Werewolf” could point the finger at someone else for not qualifying for the Chamber.
It was in fact Zayn who was pinned by Rhodes after hitting McIntyre with a Helluva Kick.
Despite Zayn pointing the finger at Rhodes, Fatu could be the one who blames Sami, leading to a showdown between the two popular babyfaces at WrestleMania 42.

5. Rekindle Rivalry With Solo Sikoa & The MFTs

In the summer of 2025, Jacob Fatu had enough of the mind games and backstabbing by Solo Sikoa when he cost his cousin the Men’s Money In The Bank match.
Following this betrayal, Sikoa dethroned Fatu to win the WWE United States Championship at Night of Champions 2025.
This feud culminated with a Steel Cage Match at WWE SummerSlam 2025 that saw The MFTs assist Sikoa to a win over Fatu.
Wanting to rekindle this rivalry, Fatu could target Solo one more time to set up a battle of former Bloodline members at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

4. Pursuing The United States Championship Again

Back at WWE WrestleMania 41, Jacob Fatu defeated LA Knight to become the new United States Champion.
Since losing the gold to Solo Sikoa in the summer of 2025, it feels like Fatu was never given a fair shot at the title.
Wanting to get himself back into contention, Fatu could answer one of Carmelo Hayes’ open challenges or he could wait for the biggest show of the year.
Fatu challenging Hayes for the U.S. Title at WrestleMania 42 could become a potential show stealer between two breakout stars from Friday Night SmackDown.

3. Facing His Mystery Attacker

When Jacob Fatu was taken out of action, it came due to a sneak attack from a mysterious assailant.
Since making his return, it seems like Fatu is unaware who exactly attacked him instead choosing to direct his anger towards both Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes, who have both denied any involvement in this attack.
Ahead of WrestleMania 42, the mystery attacker could finally be revealed to both Fatu and the WWE fans.
This could lead to a face-off with Fatu and his mystery attacker that will pay off this story at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

2. Challenging Randy Orton

Jacob Fatu has faced off with some of the biggest stars on the WWE roster today since arriving in the company in 2024.
One of the men that Fatu originally attacked when he made his WWE debut was none other than Randy Orton.
If Orton comes up short at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, “The Legend Killer” will find himself on the outside looking in come WrestleMania 42.
Fatu challenging Orton would be seen as a significant matchup for him in his career and could easily be a standout from the Mania card this April.

1. Accepting Brock Lesnar’s Open Challenge

On the February 23 edition of Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar made his return to the company with Paul Heyman setting up his plans for WrestleMania 42.
After calling out the locker room for the lack of talent not willing to step up to “The Beast Incarnate,” Heyman stated that Lesnar was laying out an open challenge for anyone to come face him at “The Show of Shows.”
While many fans believe someone like GUNTHER or Oba Femi might step up, it could be likely that Jacob Fatu sees this as a massive opportunity for himself.
Not willing to back down to anyone, Fatu could answer the open challenge to face Lesnar in what would be the biggest and most important bout of his entire career.
