Former NXT Stars To Re-Sign With WWE

WWE NXT has established itself as the brand where stars are made ever since it become a standalone show on the WWE Network back in 2014.

While many of the talent who made a name for themselves on the brand eventually made their way to the main roster, there are quite a few stars who have left the company over the years.

Looking at the free agency market and around the wrestling world, a few former champions and stars could make their way back into the fold and re-sign with WWE sooner rather than later.

Here are six former NXT stars to potentially re-sign with WWE.

6. Paige

Back in March, Saraya announced her departure from All Elite Wrestling after a three year run with the promotion.

Since then, Saraya, formerly known as Paige, has been more than open about making a WWE return.

While she had plenty of success on the main roster during her first run with the company, Paige helped to revolutionize women’s wrestling in WWE during her stint on the NXT brand.

Re-signing with WWE could see Paige appear on Raw, SmackDown or NXT where she could be viewed as a returning legend who could bring a boost in star power and experience to the entire women’s division.

5. Elayna Black (Cora Jade)

Back in May, WWE had its latest slate of talent cuts with over 15 wrestlers being released from the company. Among the most surprising names included in these releases had to be WWE NXT star Cora Jade.

At just 24 years old, Jade was viewed as someone who could contribute to the women’s division for years to come.

Now once again known as Elayna Black, the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion has hit the ground running on the independent scene, looking to prove the naysayers wrong.

However, it seems very possible that Black could find her way back to WWE before long and become an even bigger star on the second go-around than the first time.

4. Nic Nemeth

Many fans were shocked when Dolph Ziggler was released from WWE in September 2023.

Viewed by many as someone who was a WWE lifer, it was surprising to see Ziggler exit the company and head outside of their bubble for the first time since 2005.

Since then, Ziggler, real name Nic Nemeth, has become one of TNA Wrestling’s biggest stars and captured both the TNA World and World Tag Team Championships.

With the current working relationship with TNA Wrestling, it seems possible that Nemeth could make a return to WWE eventually and maybe even re-sign when he becomes a free agent again.

3. The IInspiration (Peyton Royce & Billie Kay)

At TNA Against All Odds 2025, The IInspiration made their return to the company to confront TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Ash and Heather By Elegance.

Cassie Lee and Jess McKay have been one of the better women’s tag teams since their debut on WWE NXT back in 2015.

With their entertaining character work and personality on display, the former IIconics won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships and then eventually the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships when they signed with that promotion.

Now with TNA Wrestling having a partnership with WWE, there is a chance that The IInspiration could eventually appear and then re-sign with WWE when the time is right.

2. Kalisto

Signing with WWE in 2013, Kalisto was seen as an intriguing prospect who started on the NXT brand and won the NXT Tag Team Championships with Sin Cara within the next year.

The luchador was released from WWE in 2021 and has appeared regularly across multiple independent promotions since then.

Coming back to the fold, Kalisto would be returning to a completely different WWE than the one he left four years ago.

With a landscape that is more focused on in-ring ability than before, Kalisto could become a standout on any of the three brands of WWE if he does re-sign.

1. Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze was one of the most prominent stars on the NXT brand when the show debuted on the WWE Network.

Eventually getting called up to the main roster in 2015, this did not pan out as well outside of his run alongside Fandango in the Breezango tag team.

After a second run over on NXT, Breeze was released from WWE in 2021 and has continued to work outside of the ring for the company on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel, while starting a wrestling school.

Breeze making an in-ring return after re-signing with WWE could get him back in an important spot, especially on NXT as the experienced statesman of the brand.
