WWE WrestleMania 42 will feature several title matches on the card with five of the six announced bouts being for championship gold already.
These bouts could see a number of titles changing hands across the two-night event on April 18 and 19.
From long title chases being completed or former champions capturing gold, these changes could have significant ramifications on the entire landscape of WWE coming out of Mania.
Here are eight potential title changes at WWE WrestleMania 42.
8. Rhea Ripley Defeats Jade Cargill To Win The WWE Women’s Championship
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, Kiana James, Asuka and Alexa Bliss to win the women’s Elimination Chamber match.
Thanks to this win, Ripley will now challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.
While Cargill has been a dominant force since coming to the company, Ripley feels like a formidable opponent for the reigning WWE Women’s Champion.
Despite new backup in the form of B-Fab and Michin, Jade might not have enough to overcome Rhea for the title when the lights are on the brightest at ‘The Show of Shows.’
7. Becky Lynch Wins Her Third Women’s Intercontinental Championship Over AJ Lee
Since making her return to WWE in September 2025, AJ Lee has been a thorn in the side of Becky Lynch.
After making her tap out twice in 2025, Lee submitted Lynch for a third time and won the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber 2026.
Following an attack from Becky the week prior, Lee challenged ‘The Man’ to a rematch for the gold at WrestleMania 42.
With Lee scoring three straight wins over ‘Big Time Becks,’ it might be time for Lynch to get a win and regain the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title from the legend at Mania.

6. Tiffany Stratton Becomes The New WWE Women’s United States Champion Against Giulia
Over the past few weeks, Tiffany Stratton has set her sights on Giulia’s WWE Women’s United States Championship.
Now on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Stratton will challenge Giulia for the title.
While Giulia could lose the gold on this week’s SmackDown, WWE would be wise to save the title change for the WrestleMania 42 card.
Stratton becoming the new WWE Women’s US Champion would be a cool moment that mirrors her victory last year when she was in the WWE Women’s Championship match.
5. The Vision Takes The World Tag Team Championship From The Usos
Another title change that could happen either in the weeks to come or at WrestleMania 42 is The Vision taking the World Tag Team Championship from The Usos.
On the March 23 episode of Monday Night Raw, The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory scored a DQ win over The Usos in a non-title match thanks to Jey Uso using brass knuckles on his opponents.
This now sets up a Street Fight between these two duos for the World Tag Team Championship on the March 30 Monday Night Raw from Madison Square Garden.
While Jimmy and Jey Uso could hold onto the gold on Raw, The Vision should walk out of WrestleMania 42 with the tag titles.

4. The Bella Twins Finally Capture The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship From The Irresistible Forces In A Multi-Tag Team Match
Following Brie Bella’s return at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, The Bella Twins announced their intentions to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
On the March 20 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Bellas got their shot at the gold against The Irresistible Forces, but this bout ended in a no contest thanks to interference from Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
With Flair and Bliss, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Bellas all trying to get their opportunity, this might find Nia Jax and Lash Legend in a multi-team matchup for the gold at WrestleMania 42.
Nikki and Brie Bella winning the titles for the first time would be a memorable moment that fans are talking about coming out of Mania in Las Vegas this year.
3. Liv Morgan Wins The WWE Women’s World Championship Over Stephanie Vaquer
At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Liv Morgan won the women’s Royal Rumble match and punched her ticket for WrestleMania 42.
After weeks of contemplating, Morgan eventually chose Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE Women’s World Championship for her title opportunity.
Following some trading of barbs back-and-forth, things have become very heated and intense with Vaquer and Morgan over the past few weeks.
While ‘La Primera’ has been a fighting champion since capturing the gold last year, fans could see Morgan become the new WWE Women’s World Champion at Mania whether she does it on her own or with her friends in The Judgment Day.

2. Randy Orton Becomes A 15-time World Champion By Defeating Cody Rhodes For The Undisputed WWE Championship
On the March 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Randy Orton snapped and viciously attacked his friend Cody Rhodes during their Undisputed WWE Championship contract signing for WrestleMania 42.
Showing that he was willing to listen to the voices in his head, Orton showed no remorse for his actions and proceeded to attack Cody’s friend Matt Cardona the following week on SmackDown.
Considering how personal things have shifted between them, Rhodes is expected to be fired up and wanting revenge on his former friend.
While he will be facing a more determined version of ‘The American Nightmare,’ it feels like Orton has to be the favorite to win his 15th world championship at WrestleMania 42 when everything is on the line.
1. Roman Reigns Dethrones CM Punk To Win The World Heavyweight Championship
After winning the men’s Royal Rumble match, Roman Reigns chose CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship to challenge for at WrestleMania 42.
Things have gotten more and more personal between the two megastars after Punk mentioned that he was ready to bury his rival next to Roman’s late father.
While Punk feels like he has the mental edge over ‘The OTC,’ Reigns has the backup of The Usos, which makes him an insurmountable opponent for ‘The Best In The World.’
Reigns dethroning Punk for the World Heavyweight Title would be a fitting way to close WrestleMania 42 this year and set the stage for a potential return of The Bloodline at the top of WWE moving forward.
