With so many WWE titles on the line at the event, everything could change by the time the dust settles on the first-ever two night SummerSlam.
With WWE SummerSlam 2025 right around the corner, it is time to take a look at all of the possible title changes at the event.
Here are nine potential title changes that could be set for WWE SummerSlam 2025.
Gunther vs. CM Punk – World Heavyweight Championship

After toppling Goldberg in his last match, GUNTHER now sets his sights on CM Punk who is set to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.
However, whether or not Punk gets to keep the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for very long is an interesting prospect.
With some speculation that Seth Rollins’ reportedly legitimate injury is in fact, entirely in storyline – there could be a possibility that Rollins could cash-in.
Perhaps being sweet karma for having contributed to Drew McIntyre’s extremely short title reign at WrestleMania 40 – there is a historical foundation for a wild finish to this one.

Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship

After capturing her first main roster title via Money in the Bank cash-in on friend turned enemy Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton has gone on to be a force on SmackDown.
Although Stratton has held the title for over 200 days as champion – it seems Tiffy Time might finally be up.
Since Jade Cargill comes fully loaded with her own built-in future potential feuds against the likes of Bianca Belair or Charlotte Flair – change could be coming to the top of the women’s division.
Leaving the option open for Tiffany Stratton to then be drafted to WWE Raw for a fresh set of feuds – Jade Cargill will benefit from capturing her first singles title in WWE.

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria – Women’s Intercontinental Championship

With what could prove to be the end of this particular feud, Becky Lynch puts her Intercontinental Championship on the line against familiar foe, Lyra Valkyria.
While the duo have already put on an impressive pair of singles matches at both Backlash 2025 and Money in the Bank 2025 – should the feud continue beyond SummerSlam, it runs the risk of becoming stale.
In order to bring more purpose and prestige to the concept of the overall WWE women’s Intercontinental Championship, new storylines with different characters are needed.
With the likes of Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nikki Bella, Ivy Nile or Natalya just to name a few all available on WWE Raw for fresh fights with the winner – hopefully a title change brings about new rivalries.

Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY – Women’s World Championship

A re-match of sorts for the Women’s World Championship as the mutual respect between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY will need to be thrown out the window as the pair face Naomi in a triple threat for the WWE Women’s World Championship.
While Naomi may have pulled off a massive heist at WWE Evolution when she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase, she is now tasked with keeping it.
Seemingly set for an iconic match at Clash at the Castle Paris with Stephanie Vaquer regardless of outcome – it still seems as though it could be Rhea Ripley’s time to reclaim the Women’s World Championship.
Still leaving the door open for a future feud with Naomi down the line, Rhea Ripley seems poised to take back her title – even if it means turning heel to do it.

Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles – Intercontinental Championship

After picking up the Intercontinental Championship in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 41, Dominik Mysterio may be facing his toughest challenge yet at SummerSlam 2025.
Set to tangle with AJ Styles – it seems possible that Mysterio will not be able to make it out of SummerSlam as still the champ.
It has been a solid run for Dominik Mysterio with the Intercontinental Championship but he may have finally met his match in AJ Styles.
Seemingly poised to pick up the IC title victory and move on to more serious feuds, AJ Styles could also conceivably pick up the win but still continue this enjoyable feud with Mysterio.

Tables Ladders & Chairs 12-Man match for WWE Tag Team Championship

Announced on WWE SmackDown by Nick Aldis, this match is set to be a big one. Not only is it another stipulation match of the event – it is Tables, Ladders & Chairs.
Set to feature the WWE Tag Team Champions the Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) putting their titles on the line against Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom), The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford), #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)
While it seems entirely possible that the Wyatt Sicks will in fact pick up the victory and retain their newly won titles – it doesn’t seem probable.
With this bout in particular being anybody’s call – in the end it may come down to which team can demonstrate the best team work.

Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu – United States Championship Steel Cage Match

After their love turned to hatred, Solo Sikoa will put the United States Championship that he beat Jacob Fatu to earn on the line against the latter in a massive rematch.
With the stipulation of the steel cage conceivably in place to prevent interreference – there is likely to be a finish that involves some kind of surprise since it is still a Bloodline match.
While Jacob Fatu continues to build in popularity as a fan favorite, he could be poised to take back the United States Championship and move on to feuds with other non-Bloodline stars.
With the likes of Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and Carmelo Hayes all looking for their next feuds after SummerSlam, Fatu could move forward with the United States title with opponents already lined up.

Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss – Women’s Tag Team Championship

While some reports noted they were originally planned to have a match against one another at SummerSlam, instead the tag team of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair are getting a title shot.
With creative plans needing to shift after Liv Morgan picked up an injury, it seems questionable whether or not the long term plan for the women’s tag titles was to keep them with Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
Since the women’s tag team titles in particular can sometimes be utilized as a storyline transition title rather than a sought after prize – perhaps the time is right for them to change hands.
While Perez & Rodriguez could always retain the titles, SummerSlam could also host the surprise victory of Flair & Bliss. Potentially still leading to their inevitable breakup and feud – for now at least, the pair of veteran stars is wildly popular with fans.

John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes – Undisputed WWE Championship

After their massive match at WrestleMania 41, John Cena and Cody Rhodes will go at it again on SummerSlam Sunday.
While the pacing of the storyline seems to suggest now is not the time that John Cena will lose the title to Cody Rhodes – the intriguing stipulation leaves the door open for some shenanigans.
With the possibility of interference high due to the street fight rules of the bout, there could be a way that Rhodes picks up a decisive victory over Cena.
Potentially using shady means to pick up the victory, there could be a subtle shift in power by which Rhodes begins to show less remorse for his actions but with Cena seemingly showing more.
