With Drew McIntyre capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes on SmackDown, he could be headed for a huge WrestleMania 42 match.
Whether or not he holds on to the Undisputed WWE Championship until Las Vegas, there will certainly be a big bout for Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42.
Here are seven potential WrestleMania 42 opponents for Drew McIntyre.
7. Oba Femi
With Femi having a legitimate gripe against McIntyre for having interrupted his big match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it could be that the former NXT Champion is not quick to forgive.
Rather, quite the contrary, if it ends up being Oba Femi who challenges Drew McIntyre first for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Potentially setting them on a future collision course for WrestleMania 42, the rivalry could become very personal by Las Vegas.
McIntyre serving as the perfect foe for a brand new star to have to prove himself against on the main roster, the storyline could be an intriguing one as McIntyre finds himself now the bitter veteran attempting to hold his spot by any means necessary.

6. Brock Lesnar
With Brock Lesnar featuring in the adverts for WrestleMania 42, it could seem as though he is poised for a major match at the event.
Potentially looking to challenge for a title, it could be a major swerve to end up seeing Brock Lesnar take on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42.
If Lesnar were to win the Royal Rumble and guarantee his title shot at WrestleMania 42, there could also be an interesting interim where he teases whether or not he was targeting McIntyre or CM Punk.
With enemies all around for the top of the WWE card, it could be that heading into what might be his final WrestleMania with rumors that Lesnar’s career could be wrapping up by SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis — perhaps WrestleMania 42 will mark the beginning of the end of the Beast in WWE.

5. CM Punk
While CM Punk currently holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, there could be big twists and turns still ahead.
Possibly looking to resurrect their hot feud, it could be a compelling twist to see CM Punk and Drew McIntyre in conflict ahead of WrestleMania 42.
With a potential return from Seth Rollins, this could turn into a three-way vitriol fueled match for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
Blending reality and fiction, the tension between the three performers could create the perfect battle over the Undisputed WWE Championship.

4. Bron Breakker
A potential threat to Drew McIntyre’s Undisputed WWE Championship reign could be Bron Breakker.
If The Vision were to end up migrating over to SmackDown to attack one time ally McIntyre, there could be any number of combinations of challengers headed into Las Vegas.
While McIntyre could certainly face strong competition from Bronson Reed or Logan Paul, it might be Breakker that would be the most compelling opponent.
Setting up the two big men to have a major battle, the match is major enough that there could still be the bout even if McIntyre doesn’t remain champ by the time WrestleMania 42 rolls around.

3. Roman Reigns
In a potential intriguing showdown of top talent, Drew McIntyre could hang on to the WWE Undisputed Championship until WrestleMania 42 to tangle with Roman Reigns.
With Reigns being one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble (where he could now meet Cody Rhodes, bringing the battle royal down to an exciting conclusion), we could see him go on to take on McIntyre in Las Vegas.
Leaving room for the potential return of Seth Rollins to either interfere in the match or join it if he is able to compete after injury — there may be some big moves coming soon to the main event picture in WWE.
While Roman Reigns has been featured on WWE Raw as of late, a flip to SmackDown to challenge McIntyre makes complete sense, whether it is now or further down the Road to WrestleMania.

2. Cody Rhodes
If Drew McIntyre holds onto the Undisputed WWE Championship, we could see Cody Rhodes take this opportunity to make history in Riyadh.
With the potential to join Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only man to ever have won the Royal Rumble three times in his career (for Austin, 1997, 1998, and 2001), Rhodes could write his name in the history books forever.
Possibly capturing a victory in the massive battle royal out of sheer necessity, it could be Cody’s only shot at getting back into the main event for WrestleMania 42.
Positioning Rhodes as the underdog is the right emotional move heading into WrestleMania season, even if he ends up devastated in defeat on the Road to WrestleMania 42.

1. Chris Jericho
Even if McIntyre is not the Undisputed WWE Champion when WrestleMania 42 rolls around, there is still a massive story to be told for him.
If rumors prove correct and Chris Jericho is poised to return to WWE, Drew McIntyre could absolutely be his first massive feud.
With McIntyre’s character notably incensed by the ‘returning hero’ narrative painted over the glaring flaws of the likes of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and potentially now Jericho as well — he could definitely take out his rage on the potentially-returning veteran.
Refusing to take a backseat to yet another returning veteran from AEW — Drew McIntyre and Chris Jericho could make absolute magic at WrestleMania 42, no title needed.
