Current WWE Stars To Join AEW

While moves between WWE and AEW and vice versa have become more common, there could be even more yet to come.

From stars that are somewhat underutilized to others that may be looking for the next chapter of their careers – there are some intriguing options for who could make the switch in the future.

Here are six current WWE stars to join AEW.

6. Bayley

After being a solid WWE character for over a decade, Bayley has demonstrated reliable in-ring excellence throughout.

Currently being left out of the mid-card title picture in WWE – Bayley’s in-ring career continues to leave her fans hoping that she is able to get more recognition.

With her close friendship with Mercedes Mone also likely to be a factor – it would make complete sense to see Bayley pop up in AEW someday.

Potentially as a friend to Mone – she could also arrive as a foe with their reunion on-screen in AEW becoming an even more iconic moment.

5. Dragon Lee

Excitement was high around Dragon Lee when he first signed with WWE – joining NXT and capturing the North American Championship in short order.

While he would quickly find himself drafted to the main roster after the standout run in NXT – he has seemingly faded into the background.

Joining the LWO, Lee was frequently paired with Rey Mysterio until the WWE Hall of Famer was taken out of action due to injury.

With Dragon Lee’s brothers RUSH and Dralistico still in AEW and his past history appearing in the promotion – a future in AEW doesn’t seem too far fetched.

4. Wes Lee

While he has certainly had a decorated tenure on NXT, capturing both the NXT North American Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship – Lee has been a bit left out of the mix as of late.

With continued partnerships with TNA Wrestling bringing the likes of Joe Hendry and Mike Santana in to feud with Trick Williams – Wes Lee could use a big storyline of his own.

Although recently paired with Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont in a stable called High Ryze, there could still be a lot of upside in Wes Lee’s career.

Potentially looking for more outside of NXT, Wes Lee could thrive in TNA Wrestling or AEW.

3. IYO SKY

Although she’s a fan favorite in WWE – IYO SKY could definitely look to take her talents to a different platform for the right offer.

While she has faced much of the top talent in WWE – there isn’t a lot for IYO SKY to continue to accomplish in the company.

Poised to be a major player in any women’s division – SKY could join other former WWE alum Mercedes Mone and Toni Storm in finding a new life in AEW.

Perhaps looking to explore opportunities in AEW, IYO SKY could end up dominating the AEW women’s division for years to come.

2. Tyler Bate

Potentially able to find a second life in AEW, either of the New Catch Republic members of Tyler Bate or Pete Dunne could find themselves in AEW.

With Bate potentially still interested in chasing more intriguing match-ups in his career – AEW could be a future landing place.

While the star had a decorated run in NXT and NXT UK, he has failed to get fully in the mix on the main roster after some momentum was halted by injury.

Able to fit right in with other heavy hands, Bate also brings speed and inherent likeability – something that could definitely be showcased in AEW.

1. Stephanie Vaquer

While she hasn’t been in WWE very long – it doesn’t mean that Stephanie Vaquer couldn’t find herself signed to AEW in the future.

Since having joined WWE in July 2024, La Primera has already made a big impact.

Already being presented as a top star on the WWE main roster, Stephanie Vaquer continues to wow audiences with her impressive technical skills and passionate charisma.

With a ton of upside still in her career and past experience competing in AEW (albeit briefly), perhaps Vaquer could find herself in AEW in the future.
