With every passing major event, there are fans that remain hopeful that Chris Jericho will make a return to WWE.
However, while he has yet to appear, it could be that his big return to WWE is being saved for Chicago and the Elimination Chamber.
Here are five potential Chris Jericho WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 return plans.
5. New Alliance With Finn Balor
One WWE star that is seemingly still on the hunt for a rematch with CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship is Finn Balor.
With Balor having two separate vignette segments during WWE Raw and being addressed directly by CM Punk during Punk’s promo segment with Roman Reigns, it would seem the bad blood continues between the pair.
Potentially popping up at Elimination Chamber to secure a victory on behalf of Balor, Chris Jericho could be revealed as a brand new ally of Balor on WWE Raw.
Bringing Jericho into a brand new iteration of the Judgment Day, Balor and Jericho could end up wielding enough power in the group to totally reinvent things.

4. Attack Drew McIntyre
One potential target for Chris Jericho upon his return to WWE may be Drew McIntyre.
While Drew McIntyre has no shortage of foes lurking looking to take him down for the Undisputed WWE Championship, he could add one more at Elimination Chamber.
With Chris Jericho potentially returning to draw the immediate ire of McIntyre – who notably is not impressed by those returning ‘home’ after travels elsewhere – there could be a big feud ahead.
Potentially leading to a major fatal four-way bout for the WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 42 between McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Jacob Fatu and Chris Jericho, there could be a big match brewing for Las Vegas.

3. Cost Cody Rhodes The Elimination Chamber Match
While the participants in the titular Elimination Chamber matches haven’t been determined as of yet, qualifying matches will start soon.
Seemingly one of Cody Rhodes’ last chances to secure a WrestleMania 42 match, it could be that he is on the verge of winning when he’s attacked by a familiar face from the past.
There would be no better way for Chris Jericho to immediately return as the biggest heel imaginable than if he stole Rhodes’ potential WrestleMania moment out from under him.
Possibly leading to a multi-man match for the Undisputed WWE Championship to liven things up at Mania 42, there could still be some big moments still to come.

2. Revealed As Masked Man From Royal Rumble
While it has yet to be paid off, a brand new masked man mystery kicked of in WWE at the 2026 Royal Rumble.
With Bron Breakker being taken out by a mysterious man ahead of his #2 entry into the Rumble, he would end up softened up for #1 entrant Oba Femi.
Easily able to toss Breakker out to his quick demise, Femi would go on to await new challengers while the masked man stood over the broken Bron.
Possibly being revealed to have been Chris Jericho all along – or at least an representative of Jericho if not physically him in Riyadh – Jericho could come back to the company in a feud with The Vision.

1. New Authority Figure To Feud With LA Knight
Chris Jericho is one the the few legends that could return to WWE to adoration, only to then immediately break the collective heart of the fans.
Absolutely able to channel some evil corporate character to return as a proxy for The Rock or another version of past heel authority figures, there could be some amazing moments still ahead for Jericho.
Able to entertain in a unique way throughout the years, Jericho could immediately tangle with the likes of LA Knight, and inevitably, a more babyface iteration of Bron Breakker.
Seemingly able to do just as much damage on the roster as a backstage figure as an in-ring wrestler, Jericho may reveal his most dynamic character yet.
