With AEW Full Gear 2025 set for Saturday, November 22, there are some AEW stars that have been removed from action.
From those taken out of action due to legitimate injuries to others who just didn’t make the card, there are some intriguing names poised to be off the list for those appearing tonight.
Here are six AEW stars that are seemingly removed from Full Gear 2025.
6. Powerhouse Hobbs
After tangling with Hangman Adam Page in the lead up to Full Gear 2025, it doesn’t seem Powerhouse Hobbs is on the card for the event.
While Samoa Joe referenced Hobbs’ brutal battle against Hangman Adam Page on Dynamite as having taken Hobbs out, he isn’t literally out of action due to injury.
After a brutal “Falls Count Anywhere” match on Dynamite that featured a post-match attack on Hangman by The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata and Samoa Joe), it could be that Hobbs is waiting for the right time to strike.
Possibly set to interfere in some way in the steel cage match bout for the AEW World Championship between Samoa Joe and Hangman Adam Page — he could also certainly appear in the Casino Gauntlet match to determine the inaugural AEW National Championship.

5. Penelope Ford
One star that is out of action for Full Gear 2025 is Penelope Ford who had been successful in her tag team with Megan Bayne.
While unfortunately Ford picked up an injury that has her out of action indefinitely, it seems there were at least plans for her team with Megan Bayne to make it far in the tournament.
With Marina Shafir subbing in for Penelope Ford in a tag team with Megan Bayne, the pair have made it to tonight’s four corners match between the remaining semi-finalists in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament.
Their team will face off against the duos of Timeless Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa (The Timeless Love Bombs), Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron (The Babes of Wrath) and Julia Hart & Skye Blue (The Sisters of Sin), with the chance to choose a stipulation for that team’s semi-final match up for grabs.

4. Christian Cage
Although he hasn’t seen in-ring action since AEW All Out in Toronto, there isn’t as a clear of a reason for Christian Cage’s absence as there is for his partner Adam Copeland.
Copeland departed AEW in the aftermath of the stunning post-match attack from FTR on his wife Beth Copeland, with the “Rated R Superstar” telling Cage that he needed to step away.
However, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for fans of Cope & Christian together since there is a match on the card that could host a potential return.
With FTR taking another swing at the AEW Tag Team Championships still held by Brodido (Brody King and Bandido), it could be that the return of Copeland and/or Cage could occur at Full Gear 2025 to teach FTR a lesson.

3. Jamie Hayter
Potentially set for a future storyline with whichever woman ends up winning the AEW World Championship at Full Gear 2025 — Jamie Hayter has the night off.
Hayter, who reportedly got “banged up” during the inaugural women’s Blood and Guts match is former AEW Women’s World Champion has no match on the card in New Jersey.
While Hayter could have been tapped to have some sort of Zero Hour fracas at Full Gear 2025, instead she will be taking the night off after reports surfaced of potential injury to her face and teeth after the violent bout.
Possibly looking to be next in line to either Kris Statlander or Mercedes Mone depending on how the women’s title match shakes out — Hayter could be poised for a big spot by AEW World’s End in late December.

2. Anna Jay & Tay Melo
A surprising pair that didn’t make the cut for the AEW Full Gear 2025 card are the actual longstanding tag team of TayJay — Anna Jay and Tay Melo.
Failing to advance in the tournament to determine who would be in contention for the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship — a fascinating bit of news dropped ahead of Full Gear 2025 weekend.
With Fightful Select reporting that Anna Jay’s AEW contract is set to expire in the near future, it could be that Jay’s future in the company is up in the air.
Tay Melo on the other hand is likely still locked-in with AEW for a period of time as she did miss substantial time due to pregnancy with her first daughter, Luna.

1. Thekla
One AEW star that arguably deserves the night off after a wild recent performance is Thekla.
After a widely touted performance in the first ever women’s Blood and Guts match in AEW, Thekla is set to miss Full Gear 2025.
While her fellow Triangle of Madness sisters Julia Hart and Skye Blue found themselves advancing to the semi-finals of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament, Thekla will presumably be left cheering then on.
Possibly accompanying the frightening pair to ringside, it could end up being the “Toxic Spider” that strikes at the perfect moment to set up the Sisters of Sin for the win at Full Gear.
