After being rejected by Bobby Lashley from joining the Hurt Syndicate, the time is right for MJF to lead his own AEW faction.
MJF has had a tumultuous character history with friendships in AEW – from Chris Jericho to Adam Cole, betrayal has lurked around every corner.
Here are six potential stars that MJF could recruit to join a new AEW stable.
6. Max Caster

Since parting ways with his former tag team partners Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn, Max Caster has rebranded himself.
Now taking the ‘Best Wrestler Alive’ moniker to another level, Caster has been attempting to assert himself with his open challenge.
Unfortunately for Caster, he has lost his last seven straight matches in AEW, but perhaps an alliance with MJF could change that.
With their amusing friendship being briefly featured previously on AEW TV, Caster would make an entertaining addition to any MJF-led group.

5. The Gunns

Colten and Austin Gunn were last seen in a losing bout to the Hurt Syndicate in February 2025 but have not been in action in AEW since.
Perhaps they’re being reserved for a future surprise appearance.
The duo – similarly to MJF – seem to really understand what it takes to evoke emotion from crowds, making them the perfect tag team to join MJF’s stable.
With the Bullet Club Gold half of the Bang Bang Gang currently out of action, maybe the Gunns will look for friends elsewhere.

4. Jack Perry

‘The Scapegoat’ has remained out of action since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at AEW Full Gear 2024.
Perhaps the perfect way for Jack Perry to return, and potentially add a new character element, would be to join forces with MJF.
The partnership could lead to the introduction of numerous mysteries, such as whether Jack Perry is still affiliated with the Young Bucks, whether the Bucks are also working with MJF, and where Hangman Adam Page would fit into it all.
However, it could also just not be connected at all with Perry completely moving onto a new chapter.

3. Scorpio Sky

While Scorpio Sky hasn’t appearing in in-ring action in AEW for quite some time, he is reportedly still signed to the company.
Since he remains active in independent wrestling, it doesn’t appear that Sky is medically unable to compete, and he could be a powerful addition to MJF’s new faction.
If MJF is attempting to compile a group of fellow original stars who continue to be overlooked in favor of shiny new toys in AEW, Sky fits the bill.
Potentially able to use the return to make a character pivot, Sky could use an opportunity to reinvent himself.

2. Richard Holliday

Perhaps best known for his work in MLW, one free agent that has not been signed to AEW but could absolutely fit in an MJF faction is Richard Holliday.
After having previously been in the MLW faction Dynasty, Holliday has a specific history with MJF.
The pair were MLW Tag Team Champions together, making Holliday the perfect prospect for MJF to bring into AEW to join his faction.
As luck would have it, there is another member of the former MLW stable that may still be looking to explore free agency…

1. Alexander Hammerstone

Alexander Hammerstone made a surprise return to MLW at a recent show after confirming in February that he had completed his contract with TNA Wrestling.
However, despite the appearance, it was later reported that Hammerstone had not been signed to a new MLW contract, so maybe there’s still a chance.
Hammerstone also served as an important member of the MLW stable Dynasty, making him a logical choice for MJF to recruit to AEW.
With some reports noting that WWE was interested in signing Hammerstone – squashing reunion plans with MJF for now – we’ll have to wait and see.
