All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has plenty of talent on the roster that could be due for a presentation change in the new year.
Wanting stars to be revitalized and having a fresh direction for their characters, AEW could have some stars undergo a name change.
Whether it be an upstart or a former champion in the promotion, there could be some alterations to the monikers of several names come 2026.
Here are seven potential AEW star name changes in 2026.
7. Action Andretti

Back in 2022, Action Andretti made his AEW debut and picked up a victory over Chris Jericho in one of the biggest upsets in company history.
However, Andretti did not go on to have a lot of success following this shocking win over the first ever AEW World Champion.
Now in 2025, Andretti is one half of CRU with Lio Rush, but not regularly featured on AEW or even ROH programming as of late.
Wanting to reignite an up-and-coming star on the roster, AEW could give Andretti a different name that fits his new heel character and helps him create a new storyline direction in the company.

6. Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin)

Top Flight have been in All Elite Wrestling since 2020 and have not quite reached the potential that many fans have for them in the promotion.
Despite being among one of the most exciting pairings in the AEW tag team division, Darius and Dante Martin have not been featured in the company too much in recent months.
With 2026 on the horizon, it might be a “now or never” situation for Top Flight to find a new consistent role in the company.
Giving Top Flight a name change could lead to this new duo finding themselves in a different storyline that gives them more of a presence on AEW TV.

5. Mark Davis

In October 2025, Mark Davis made his return to the company from injury and was reunited with the Don Callis Family.
Despite his size, distinct look and high impact in-ring style, Davis seems to fall in the background when he is around the sheer size of Callis’ faction.
The former Aussie Open member is someone who did have a standout showing during the AEW National Championship Casino Gauntlet at Full Gear 2025, so the company could see this and decide to give him an upgrade in his presentation.
Davis getting a name change could lead to him becoming a singles star outside of the Don Callis Family and allow him to challenge for championship gold in the new year.

4. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)

In January 2025, Hurt Syndicate defeated Private Party to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Since this loss, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen have not been seen on AEW television with rumors of the duo making an exit from the company when their contracts expire at the end of the year.
Private Party rose to the next level in 2024 and won the AEW World Tag Team Championships, so it would be wise for the company to bring them back into the fold in some way before they make decisions about their future.
Kassidy and Quen getting a new tag team name could see Private Party get right back in the mix for the AEW tag team division and face some new pairings, such as Brodido, Bang Bang Gang or JetSpeed in 2026.

3. Keith Lee

Keith Lee has been absent from AEW programming for over two years now after being pulled from the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023.
After such a lengthy hiatus from the promotion, “The Limitless One” has recently revealed that he is healthy to return.
With Tony Khan recently commenting on his absence, fans could potentially see Lee come back into the company in 2026.
Lee coming back with a brand new name might be confusing at first, but it could signal a whole new character that allows the talented big man to get back in the game and potentially become a top star in AEW.

2. Anna Jay

During the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament, MegaProblems defeated TayJay in the first round.
Following this loss, this was a small fan outrage from fans of TayJay who wanted to see more from the longest running women’s tag team in the company.
With recent reports of her contract expiring soon, Anna Jay might be in line for a major push if she does decide to re-sign with the promotion.
Jay getting a name change could help to make fans care about the longtime AEW star and help her find an identity that allows her to climb the ladder in the women’s scene.

1. The Beast Mortos

The Beast Mortos is someone who has become a reliable in-ring competitor, especially against fellow luchadors.
To close out 2025, Mortos won his first championship since signing with AEW and Ring of Honor. Mortos and Sammy Guevara of LFI defeated Tommy Billington and Adam Priest to win the ROH World Tag Team Titles at Final Battle 2025.
This could lead to AEW and ROH potentially humanizing Mortos by changing up his name a little bit.
Instead of just “The Beast,” the luchador could go by Frank Mortos and even potentially have a split personality for AEW storylines in the new year.
