Coming off the heels of AEW Full Gear 2025, Worlds End will mark the final pay-per-view event of the year on Saturday, December 27 from Chicago, Illinois.

There are a wide variety of names on the AEW roster who could make their return to the company at the huge show to close out 2025.

From those injured, to absent stars who have been sidelined, there could be some notable returns at AEW Worlds End 2025 that will impact the landscape of the company in the new year.

Here are nine potential returns at AEW Worlds End 2025.

9. MJF

AEW's MJF

At AEW All Out 2025, Mark Briscoe defeated MJF to win a Tables N’ Tacks Match. Following this loss, Maxwell Jacob Friedman announced that he was taking some time off to rediscover his edge and killer instinct.

The former AEW World Champion still owns a guaranteed shot at the top prize in All Elite Wrestling due to his win in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas 2025.

With all these storyline ties, it should lead to Friedman coming back into play sooner rather than later.

In the last PPV of the year, MJF could return at Worlds End 2025 and immediately thrust himself into the main title picture once more now that Samoa Joe is a two-time AEW World Champion.

8. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has remained out of action for over a year now after being written off of AEW television.

After numerous questions about her status, it feels like Tony Khan has to bring Baker back to quiet down the fanbase.

Bringing back the former AEW Women’s World Champion would make a lot of sense considering the recent addition of the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Baker returning at AEW Worlds End 2025 could see her immediately insert herself into the title scene or kickstart a rivalry with one of the new stars on the roster.

7. Kamille

AEW star Kamille

Kamille debuted in All Elite Wrestling in 2024 and quickly aligned herself with Mercedes Moné.

The former NWA Women’s World Champion is someone who made a name for herself in the National Wrestling Alliance, which made her a highly touted free agent signing for AEW.

However, the split with Moné led to Kamille being held off of AEW programming since November 2024.

With a year passing since her last appearance, AEW should bring Kamille back to play a new role at Worlds End 2025 where she could step in to face Kris Statlander for the top prize in the women’s division.

6. Ruby Soho

When Ruby Soho first signed with AEW in 2021, she was considered one of the company’s biggest female stars.

Soho took a leave of absence from the company after becoming pregnant and giving birth to her first child with her husband “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker.

Now that she is a mother and has been seen training for an in-ring return, Soho could be about to make a comeback that will be very well timed for AEW.

With the recent introduction of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles, Ruby Soho could walk back into an immediate role where she will have to find a tag team partner starting right from her reintroduction at AEW Worlds End 2025.

5. Buddy Matthews

Speaking of tag team wrestling, Buddy Matthews is no stranger to having a partner from his time in WWE to now in All Elite Wrestling.

Matthews is a former NXT Tag Team Champion and has regularly been paired with the House of Black since his arrival in AEW back in 2022.

In February 2025, Matthews suffered a serious ankle injury that has kept him sidelined for the majority of the year. Prior to this injury, Buddy found himself rising the ranks with Brody King as the Hounds of Hell in the tag team division.

With his lengthy absence, King has gone on to form Brodido with Bandido and capture the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Following his loss of the gold, Brody King could turn on Bandido and open the door for Buddy’s return at AEW Worlds End to close out 2025.

4. Keith Lee

The most lengthy absence of any star on the AEW roster right now has to be that of Keith Lee.

After being removed from the AEW Worlds End card in December 2023, Lee has not been seen back in the company for two years now.

“The Limitless One” was once viewed as a “can’t miss” talent with his outstanding array of size, look, agility, athleticism and charisma.

Wanting to get him back in the mix, Tony Khan could call upon Keith Lee to make his return at AEW Worlds End 2025 and conclude some unfinished business with the recently returned Swerve Strickland.

3. Andrade

AEW star and former WWE star Andrade El Idolo

In Octobner 2025, Andrade made his return to All Elite Wrestling on the AEW Dynamite: Sixth Anniversary special.

Appearing in the company mere weeks after his abrupt firing, Andrade was later removed from AEW television after WWE sent a cease and desist to inform the promotion that their former star was under a non-compete.

With reports of his non-compete lasting one year and spanning worldwide appearances, Andrade is currently negotiating to get cleared of this deal.

The former WWE star made an immediate impact with an attack on Kenny Omega earlier this year and might want to resume his hostilities with “The Cleaner” upon a potential return at AEW Worlds End 2025.

Ahead of the start of the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Jay White announced that he had to be removed from the field due to a broken hand injury.

It was later revealed that “Switchblade” had also been dealing with shoulder injuries that he needed to recover from as well.

In his absence, The Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn have earned themselves an opportunity at the AEW World Tag Team Championships due to a non-title win over FTR.

With that title bout likely to take place at AEW Worlds End 2025, fans could potentially see Jay White make an impromptu return in Chicago to root his boys on against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.

1. Chris Jericho

Since losing the Ring of Honor World Title to Bandido at AEW Dynasty 2025, Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW television.

This has led to speculation regarding Jericho potentially leaving All Elite Wrestling when his contract expires at the end of 2025.

With WWE having massive interest in bringing in the legend for one final run, it looks likely Jericho could depart AEW and return to his former home.

Jericho could shock the fans once again by returning at AEW Worlds End 2025, embarking on one final run before he heads off to WWE for a potential Hall of Fame induction.
