8 Surprises At AEW Worlds End 2025

With this event marking the final PPV of the year for the company, there should be some notable moments that shock the fans throughout the evening.

Whether it be returns and debuts or stunning title changes, these surprises will help make AEW Worlds End 2025 stand out from the pack of excellent major events this company has delivered this year.

Here are eight potential surprises at AEW Worlds End 2025.

8. Lena Kross Debuts

On December 3, reports circulated that independent star Lena Kross had reportedly signed with All Elite Wrestling.

After making her name across the independent scene, the Australian star feels like an exciting signing for the promotion due to her impressive size and look alone.

Kross has gotten better and better in the ring, while mixing it up with notable stars already signed to AEW and ROH like Billie Starkz and Megan Bayne.

Adding to the AEW women’s division following the addition of the Women’s Tag Team Titles, Kross might be introduced at AEW Worlds End 2025 where she will have more opportunity than ever before in Tony Khan’s promotion.

7. Kevin Knight Makes Continental Classic Semi-Finals

The Continental Classic has already begun and fans have enjoyed some memorable performances from the stars involved.

However, there might not be anyone who is doing more to stand out than Kevin “The Jet” Knight.

With the C2 coming down to the final four with the top two point scorers in the Gold and Blue Leagues moving on to AEW Worlds End 2025, there is limited space for a cinderella story like the JetSpeed member making it to the end.

Despite that, AEW would be wise to ride the momentum that Knight has gained in his first two matches and give him a long run in the tournament that could surprise fans by seeing Knight make it to the final four on December 27.

6. Keith Lee Returns

AEW star Keith Lee

Two years ago, Keith Lee was scheduled to finally settle the score with Swerve Strickland in their first one-on-one match at AEW Worlds End 2023 following their Swerve In Our Glory split.

However, it was announced that Lee was pulled from the event due to undisclosed back injuries.

Since then, fans have not seen “The Limitless One” back on AEW TV despite his recent revelation to being healthy at this time.

Now two years later at AEW Worlds End 2025, Keith Lee might walk back into a totally different company and could immediately insert himself into a prominent position heading into 2026.

5. Willow Nightingale Dethrones Mercedes Moné For TBS Championship

On the December 10 Winter Is Coming special of AEW Dynamite, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, known as Babes of Wrath will face Timeless Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament Finals.

While Babes of Wrath have a ton of momentum following their win over Sisters of Sin on the November 26 episode of AEW Dynamite, Timeless Love Bombs have seemed like the favorites to win this entire tournament from the very beginning.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Moné is trying to recover from her loss to Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear 2025. Despite this setback, Mercedes still holds a record-breaking 13 titles at the time of this writing.

Facing the same woman who dethroned her at AEW Double Or Nothing, Willow could be the one to finally defeat Moné to win the TBS Championship to close out 2025 with the start of the downfall “The CEO.”

4. Eddie Kingston Joins The Opps

AEW's Eddie Kingston and Hook

Another huge match at the upcoming Winter Is Coming special will see Eddie Kingston challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship.

“The Mad King” is someone who wants to prove that Joe isn’t the same anymore and finally win the big one in All Elite Wrestling. However, The Opps might give the champion an extra advantage in this title bout.

If he does lose there, it might lead to a descent to madness for Kingston that could culminate at AEW Worlds End 2025.

Being forced to go by the mindset of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em,” Kingston could turn heel for the first time in four years and join the Opps in Chicago on December 27.

3. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page Regains AEW World Title

At AEW Full Gear 2025, Samoa Joe defeated Hangman Adam Page in a Steel Cage Match to win the AEW World Championship thanks to outside interference from HOOK.

Coming off the heels of this loss, Page has aligned himself with his arch nemesis Swerve Strickland against the new AEW World Champion and The Opps.

On the December 3 edition of AEW Dynamite, Hangman claimed that it does not matter who wins between Joe and his next challenger Eddie Kingston at Winter Is Coming because he will be AEW World Champion again.

Looking to avenge his loss from the month prior, Hangman could be the one to walk out of AEW Worlds End 2025 and head into 2026 on top once more.

2. Death Riders Turn On Jon Moxley

The downfall of Jon Moxley has been one of the most fascinating and compelling storylines in All Elite Wrestling right now.

Following his loss to Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Death Match for the AEW World Title at All In: Texas, Moxley has lost several huge encounters whether it be Blood & Guts or singles bouts with the likes of Darby Allin and Kyle O’Reilly.

After losing to fellow Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli, Moxley might just completely lose the trust of his group and could lead to their eventual betrayal.

With all the subtle teases the company has given over the past few weeks, AEW might want to pull the trigger on The Death Riders to turn heel on Moxley at their final pay-per-view of the year at Worlds End 2025.

1. No Don Callis Family Members Make Continental Classic Final

Since the Continental Classic began, the Don Callis Family has been a central focus of this year’s tournament.

With three members part of the field, it seems very likely and heavily hinted that one or more of the Callis Family will be part of the final participants who make it to AEW Worlds End 2025.

Considering Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher are all among the best wrestlers in the world today, it feels like a no-brainer that one of them might make the finals to determine the AEW Continental Champion.

The biggest surprise AEW Worlds End 2025 can offer is seeing Okada, Fletcher and Takeshita not make it to the C2 Final and have someone shocking pull out the enormous victory.
