While the AEW roster is as stacked as ever, there are several key players still missing that could return at AEW Dynasty 2025.
Whether absent due to injuries or less obvious reasons, these eight AEW stars could make surprise returns sometime soon.
Here are eight potential returns for AEW Dynasty 2025.
8. Jack Perry
Where in the world is Jack Perry? The former AEW TNT Champion hasn’t been back to competing in the ring in AEW since losing the title to Daniel Garcia back at Full Gear in November 2024.
He did wrestle at the NJPW/CMLL/AEW super show AEW Wrestle Dynasty in a losing bout for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title against Yota Tsuji – but hasn’t specifically been back in AEW action in 2025.
AEW Dynasty could be the perfect place for the return of The Scapegoat Jack Perry to begin his quest to reclaim singles gold.
Perhaps Perry is poised to return along with another tag team that has been spotted wrestling in Japan in 2025 but not stateside…

7. Young Bucks
While AEW EVPs the Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) have been out of action in AEW, they haven’t just been hanging around in SoCal.
Rather the Bucks have competed in Japan, winning the IWGP Tag Team Title in NJPW back in January before losing the championship in February.
With AEW Dynasty marking the anniversary of the feud with FTR last year that led to the duo revealing infamous backstage fight footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry, maybe the Bucks have something up their sleeve for 2025.
The pair certainly have a few things to answer for regarding their treatment of former best friend and fellow EVP, Kenny Omega.

6. Eddie Kingston
AEW has been missing Eddie Kingston since his last in-ring appearance back at Dynasty 2024 on April 21.
Most recent reports suggest that Kingston is likely to be out of in-ring action until sometime in summer 2025, but even that isn’t too far away.
If he isn’t cleared to compete yet, Kingston could still make a powerful appearance without actually wrestling since there are few AEW stars capable of making Jon Moxley take pause.
Whether delayed until summer or sooner, no one brings as much authenticity to the mic in AEW as Eddie Kingston.

5. Britt Baker
Dr Britt Baker DMD hasn’t been seen in a match in AEW since November 2024 but wasn’t appearing regularly before that.
Since she’s been absent from AEW again, a lot has changed in the women’s division but there could be a potential for her to return.
With the TBS Championship still in the hands of Mercedes Mone and the AEW Women’s World Championship held by Toni Storm, Baker has experience in the title picture.
There are still some stories to be told in AEW with the homegrown star so hopefully she makes a return at AEW Dynasty 2025.

4. Skye Blue
Spooky heel or happy babyface, it would be nice to see Skye Blue back in AEW at Dynasty 2025.
Skye Blue has been out of action due to injury after suffering a broken ankle during an AEW Collision match against Hikaru Shida back in July 2024.
At AEW All Out on the pre-show, Skye Blue made an appearance on-stage in her hometown of Chicago but she was interrupted by the dastardly Mariah May who attacked her, before Blue was saved by Queen Aminata.
Since Mariah May’s feud with Timeless Toni Storm seems to have reached the final curtain, perhaps May will now have to answer to Skye Blue.

3. Wardlow
Where is Wardlow? He was last seen on AEW TV over a year ago after losing a match against Samoa Joe via referee decision at Big Business on March 13, 2024.
Without a clear timeline on how long he is signed to AEW, he was recently rumored for an appearance in Las Vegas over WrestleMania 41 weekend.
Later it seems he was pulled from that event, with Pandemonium Pro Wrestling noting the cancellation was “beyond their control”, raising more questions about his status with AEW.
Wardlow is still contracted as far as we know, and according to Matt Taven, has been recovering from a knee injury, but we don’t know how far along he is in the recovery process, so maybe he’ll surprise us with a return sometime soon.

2. Danhausen
While Danhausen is still reportedly under contract with AEW until the ‘spring or summer of 2025’, he remains off AEW TV.
After briefly reappearing at ROH Final Battle in December 2024, he has still remained absent thus far from AEW in 2025.
While Danhausen continues to appear in promotions worldwide, fans are still hoping to see the top merchandise seller return.
Perhaps AEW Dynasty could be the return of the Very Nice, Very Evil one!

1. Bang Bang Gang – Juice Robinson & The Gunns
There isn’t a specifically noted timeline for the return of Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn and Juice Robinson as a group, but it would be so great to see them together again.
Robinson had suffered a broken fibula that required surgery and has been out of action since. He reportedly underwent successful surgery back in December 2024.
The Gunns briefly returned to AEW television taking on the Hurt Syndicate back in February 2025, but haven’t been involved in any new storylines since.
With Jay White continuing to appear on TV, maybe the boisterous group will be back together sooner rather than later at AEW Dynasty 2025.
