All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division continues to improve as time goes by. Now, they have added the extremely talented Ruby Soho to their ranks.
Soho looks to be an immediate star for the company, receiving big reactions at All Out and on her first Dynamite. With another big player in the women’s division, we can start to look ahead to some of the matches we might see.
Soho hasn’t been given an opportunity to have long high-quality matches in years. Now, she will have as much of an opportunity as anyone else.
These are eight potential AEW opponents for Ruby Soho.
9. Tay Conti

Tay Conti is a great example of talent learning and thriving away from WWE. In NXT, she was rarely used and showed just flashes of potential.
After a year of being in AEW, learning from some of the best veteran coaches in wrestling, she is a big star. While Ruby Soho had much more experience when she arrived in AEW than Conti, both have already been pushed stronger and utilized better in their new company.
A match between them would be very interesting. Conti uses a Brazilian style complete with lots of throws and grappling, which would be a unique obstacle for Soho to overcome.
8. Nyla Rose

What is most exciting about the potential matches for Ruby Soho in AEW is they are all different. There is no question that a match with Nyla Rose would be different than a match with anyone else in the AEW women’s division.
Rose is the powerhouse of the division and her matches are unique as a result. With Soho being undersized by comparison, this would be a great way for her to work as an underdog and overcome a goliath opponent.
7. Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander is coming off perhaps the best match of her career with Britt Baker at All Out. While her gimmick may be very strange, there is no denying she is a very capable wrestler.
Statlander will need to work her way back up the rankings and a friendly battle with Ruby Soho could be a place to start. They seem to be on the same page right now with both women feuding with Baker but alliances can shatter over a championship at any time.
6. Riho

Remember when I said every opponent for Soho would be different? Well, here is another perfect example of that. Riho is another completely unique performer on AEW’s roster with her size and likeability being her defining traits.
Riho is not only super popular but she is a phenomenal wrestler. Her matches with Serena Deeb, Nyla Rose, and Emi Sakura more than prove that.
Just as Ruby Soho could stand to gain from being an underdog against Nyla Rose, getting the chance to be the larger of two wrestlers in a match with Riho is a unique opportunity.
5. Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill has been used sparingly on television since her debut but it is very clear that AEW thinks very highly of her. She has yet to lose a match and when she is on television she is put in big matches.
This may be a match that fans have to wait a little longer for but Jade Cargill is one of the top talents in the AEW women’s division and a match with their newest signing will almost certainly happen at some point.
Cargill is currently feuding with Nyla Rose so her attention is elsewhere but it will be only a matter of time before she turns her attention to the AEW Women’s Championship. If Soho is still in the mix by then, we could see a big match coming.
4. Hikaru Shida

The longest reigning champion in AEW history, Hikaru Shida is still one of the biggest stars in the AEW women’s division. She hasn’t had a ton to do since losing the title but a match with a hot new signing could give her the boost she needs.
Shida spent her year as champion having great matches with all challengers. She could wrestle any style and make it work. Now, she could continue that streak of great matches with Ruby Soho.
Shida and Soho don’t have much of a reason to wrestle just yet but it would be a crime to not put together a match with as much potential to be great as this.
3. Serena Deeb

If Ruby Soho is unable to capture the AEW Women’s Championship, maybe she could turn her attention to a different title.
Serena Deeb has been the model of consistency in AEW. The current NWA Women’s World Champion, Deeb wrestles a great match every time she performs. Some have called her a modern-day Bret Hart and if that isn’t a massive seal of approval I don’t know what is.
Ruby Soho would be an ideal candidate to be NWA Women’s World Champion. She is an excellent worker and has tons of personality so it isn’t a farfetched idea for her to challenge for the title at some point.
Really anything that will get this match in the ring shouldn’t be a farfetched idea. This match would be fantastic.
2. Thunder Rosa

Since her arrival in AEW in 2020, Thunder Rosa’s stock of only continued to rise. She is one of the best performers in the company, male or female.
Thunder Rosa was the winner of the best women’s match in company history with Britt Baker and has proven herself capable of stealing the show whenever she goes to the ring.
At All Out we got a taste of what this match could be. Rosa and Soho were the final two participants in the Casino Battle Royale and the work was great. It was a fantastic appetizer for what will surely be a fantastic match when it happens.
1. Britt Baker D.M.D.

This match is virtually guaranteed to be taking place but man is it still exciting to think about.
With Ruby Soho winning the Casino Battle Royale she earned a shot at the AEW Women’s Championship. That title is currently held by Britt Baker, the biggest star in the AEW women’s division.
Baker has been on an incredible run since turning heel and is now one of the biggest stars in the whole company. A match with Baker is more than Soho was ever given to do in WWE and this will be the true display of her talent.
When this match will take place remains to be seen. They could stretch things out until Full Gear in November or have it on Dynamite before then. Even if this match happens on Dynamite or Rampage, it will unquestionably be the biggest thing on the show.
