Ahead of his retirement, John Cena visited WWE Performance Center and helped to train several stars who are currently getting their careers started.
Whether it be stars currently training at the PC or new signings to the company, Cena’s new role as ambassador could lead to a mentorship role for ‘The Never Seen 17.’
Cena providing guidance for new WWE stars would be a great way to use his wealth of knowledge in a beneficial way.
Here are eight new WWE stars to be potentially mentored by John Cena.
8. Ethan Page
After signing with WWE in 2024, Ethan Page did not waste any time in cementing himself as a top star on the NXT brand.
With 20 years of experience, ‘All Ego’ is among the veteran talent currently working in NXT and in the Performance Center.
Despite his years in the ring, Page has been more than open about getting advice from legends of the business.
Having John Cena as a mentor should give Page whatever else he needs to be ready for the next stage of his career when it is time to make the move to the WWE main roster.

7. Ricky Saints
Another veteran talent who has signed with WWE over the past year is Ricky Saints.
Coming from All Elite Wrestling to WWE, it was only a matter of time before Saints would establish himself as a main event level star.
In just over a year in NXT so far, Saints has already won the NXT North American Championship and the NXT Championship as well.
While he has well known connections to both Cody Rhodes and The Undertaker, Saints could gain another mentor in John Cena that might give him what he needs to be a top star for years to come in WWE.

6. Keanu Carver
Over the past few months, WWE NXT has added a few stars to the roster, most notably Keanu Carver.
Getting his start on WWE over on the Evolve brand, Carver has cemented himself as a feared and intimidating force inside the squared circle.
Since making his way to NXT, Carver has shown no fear or remorse in destroying anyone and everyone in front of him.
While he has shown an apprehension towards mentorship, Carver could truly accelerate his rise in NXT and WWE as a whole by listening to any advice from John Cena.

5. Sol Ruca
At the December 13 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Sol Ruca was one of the chosen stars from NXT who represented the brand against main roster talent on John Cena’s last show.
On the night, Ruca defeated Bayley in what has to be one of the biggest victories of her career.
With this spotlighted moment for the former NXT Women’s North American Champion, it would not be surprising to find out John Cena is a fan of the high flyer.
Cena mentoring Ruca would help the young star to reach the next level of her career and give her the necessary guidance to launch her to the stratosphere.

4. Kelani Jordan
Kelani Jordan came into WWE following her gymnastics success to head to the biggest pro wrestling promotion in the world.
In her first few years, Jordan has already garnered plenty of success, becoming the first NXT Women’s North American Champion and a former TNA Knockouts World Champion.
At just 27 years old, Jordan has a bright future ahead of her and could benefit from any advice given to her by one of the all-time greats.
John Cena making Jordan his protege would be a huge stamp of approval that ‘The Standout’ could use to propel her up the ladder in a major way.

3. Jacy Jayne
Starting out as a lackey to Mandy Rose in Toxic Attraction, Jacy Jayne has come such a long way over the course of the past five years.
From an NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion to one of the most decorated female stars in the history of WWE NXT, Jayne has greatly improved and currently sits atop of the entire brand.
As a two-time NXT Women’s Champion, Jayne is someone who feels destined to become a key player on the WWE main roster for years to come.
With John Cena as a mentor, Jayne would have nothing standing in her way of winning gold on Raw or SmackDown sooner rather than later.

2. Danhausen
While many stars on this list are on the NXT brand, WWE recently added a new star to the roster in the form of Danhausen.
Becoming a major star and merchandise mover on the independent scene and in AEW, Danhausen created a niche for himself as an eccentric comedy act that connected with fans all around the world.
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, the former AEW and ROH star made his debut in the company to plenty of pomp and circumstance despite a polarizing reaction.
Following Danhausen’s debut, John Cena took to social media to post a photo of WWE’s newest star seemingly giving him a stamp of approval, so it would be a fun alliance if the legend mentored the ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ star.

1. Joe Hendry
The meteoric rise of Joe Hendry is something that has been riveting to watch unfold.
Starting on the UK indies and then making a name for himself in TNA Wrestling, Hendry became a viral sensation unlike anyone out there through his signature theme music.
After several noteworthy appearances on WWE TV as part of the partnership with TNA, Hendry eventually signed with the company in November 2025 and has since become the NXT Champion on the February 3 episode.
Throughout his career, Hendry has made no secret about the influence and inspiration John Cena has provided him, so it would feel quite appropriate to see ‘The Never Seen 17’ become a new mentor for the reigning NXT Champion.
