With WWE SummerSlam 2025 poised to host the first-ever two night version of the event, at least one heel turn seems certain.
However with multiple potential candidates for who could turn heel at the big event – there are actually quite a few suspects of which stars could find it advantageous to turn to the dark side.
Here are eight potential heel turns at WWE SummerSlam 2025.
8. Cody Rhodes
There was a major temperature check of WWE fans when The Rock was attempting to finagle Cody Rhodes into joining him on the dark side.
While Rhodes ultimately rebuffed the Final Boss’ offer at that time, the road since has proven that perhaps in order to get the job done – Cody may have to embrace his dark side.
With an entirely reasonable character rationale for going full heel during his SummerSlam 2025 street fight against John Cena – perhaps the match could end up revealing a decidedly darker tone.
Since there have already been some slight teases that perhaps a shift is coming – it is possible that the time is now. Or perhaps more likely – Cody will see yet another person turn heel on him.

7. Bayley
Possibly free from the Becky & Lyra circular feud that she has been wrapped up with since WrestleMania 41 – Bayley should move on to a storyline in which she isn’t a third-wheel.
Perhaps now would be the time for the veteran star to turn heel but in a new and fresh way.
Bayley has had a few heel forms – including her overly obnoxious pandemic-era persona that included her Ding Dong! Hello interview segments and her heel leader role Damage CTRL.
But there could be a unique anti-hero version of Bayley not yet showcased where she perhaps leans into selfishness and starts taking opportunities by any means necessary.

6. Alexa Bliss
While Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss’ pairing has been fun – it seems potentially short-lived.
Although it would seem more obvious to have Charlotte turn on Alexa – Alexa’s character since returning at the Royal Rumble has been seemingly riding the line between flat and psychotic break.
Having the latter play out and leading into a feud between Flair and Bliss by which fans actually empathize with Charlotte could be a compelling take.
Turning heel and being horrible to her tag partner could also call about the attention of another former partner of Bliss – Nikki Cross and the Wyatt Sicks.

5. Bianca Belair
While Belair was the special guest referee for the Evolution 2025 match between her former tag partners Jade Cargill and Naomi – Belair was relatively neutral.
Not overly celebratory at Cargill’s win – it could be that Belair ends up out for revenge on WWE Raw.
With Naomi’s Money in the Bank cash-in winning her the WWE Women’s World Championship over Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY – perhaps Belair will be back to Raw for vengeance.
Partnering up with Naomi – Belair could prove to be the next challenger to the women’s Intercontinental Championship.

4. Damian Priest
Damian Priest is seemingly poised to take on Aleister Black in a feud – after Black interrupted Priest’s SmackDown match with Carmelo Hayes to take out the star.
However – it could be really intriguing to actually see the two unite – and possibly also recruit Zelina Vega to form a frightening trio.
In a twist reveal, the two could have a brutal match against one another only to end up uniting in the end to turn on Ron Killings at ringside.
Alternatively, Ron Killings has pitched a “Terror Triplets” group with himself, Priest and Rhea Ripley which honestly could also be a lot of fun- babyface or heel!

3. Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane)
In a backstage segment on the July 21 edition of WWE Raw, Asuka and Kairi Sane were a little shady towards IYO SKY.
Seemingly throwing a subtle dig at IYO about having been united with Rhea Ripley, Asuka’s tone definitely teased a future showdown.
With the Kabuki Warriors potentially prepared to unite against IYO SKY – it would make sense to see them turn heel in order to do so.
Able to pull off a wild surprise, the Kabuki Warriors could align with Naomi in an effort to take over the women’s division on Raw.

2. LA Knight
While he remains a fan favorite, LA Knight continues to look for a substantive storyline.
However, if he were to make a heel turn – perhaps there could be more options for direction.
Able to still ride the line between babyface and heel, Knight could go the route of Drew McIntyre and channel his frustrations into on-screen sass.
With McIntyre’s partnership with Logan Paul seemingly temporary, perhaps Knight and McIntyre could unite in their shared hatred of a few people in WWE.

1. Randy Orton
While some fans are wondering if it will be Cody Rhodes to turn heel at SummerSlam 2025 – it might actually be Randy Orton.
Having lost to Rhodes in the King of the Ring final, Orton could be poised to pivot back towards a villainous version of his character.
If Orton were to be the one to cost Cody his opportunity at reclaiming the Undisputed WWE Championship from John Cena – it could kick off a whole new direction for both characters.
With John Cena not long for WWE – it could be that Orton ends up toppling Cena and still going on to fight with Rhodes.
