With plenty of twists and turns on the road to WWE WrestleMania 42 so far, there have already been matches that wound up canceled.
From matches that have been building for months to others that have taken even longer to come together, there have been some big changes already ahead of WWE’s return to Las Vegas.
Here are seven WWE WrestleMania 42 matches that have been cancelled.
7. Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk

After Seth Rollins picked up an injury back in October 2025, it seemed as though the Rollins related WrestleMania 42 feuds could be off the table.
Breakker attacked Rollins, forcing him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship, ultimately making way for CM Punk to capture the gold.
At one stage, the plan was for Bron Breakker to win the WWE Royal Rumble and challenge CM Punk for the World Title at Mania, but Triple H ended up dropping that idea and switching things around.
CM Punk will now face Rumble winner Roman Reigns in defense of his title.

6. AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch

A match that has been brewing since Wrestlepalooza is a singles bout between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee.
While this match is still set to happen, it seems to be coming earlier than expected with the pair set to face off in Lee’s hometown of Chicago.
At WWE Elimination Chamber, Becky Lynch will put her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against AJ Lee.
Moving Lee vs Lynch to Elimination Chamber potentially means that there could be another feud for Las Vegas for one or both, unless of course, there is a Lee vs Lynch rematch ahead at WrestleMania 42.

5. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes

With reports suggesting that the main event for WrestleMania 42 was set to be a third showdown between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, the big match will have to wait.
After an injury to Seth Rollins created a shift in creative plans on the road to WrestleMania, Reigns now already has his opponent for Las Vegas.
Since winning the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns has gone on to elect to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, leaving the winner of the Elimination Chamber to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
WWE could potentially end up circling back to Rhodes vs Reigns for next year’s WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

4. Bianca Belair vs. Jade Cargill

Seemingly headed for a showdown for over a year, fans remained hopeful that Bianca Belair would make a return at the Royal Rumble.
However, when the event came and went without her, it has seemed as though Belair vs Cargill will continue to be on pause.
While this match could possibly still come to be, it does seem as though Belair is set to continue to face time out of in-ring action.
Jade Cargill looks set to defend her WWE Women’s Championship against either Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan or the eventual winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber.

3. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

One match that seemed to be on the horizon for WWE WrestleMania 42 seemed to Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins finally meeting one-on-one once again.
However, Rollins’ injury put the plans on pause.
With Reigns already set to take on CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, Rollins could still potentially return and insert himself into the title picture.
Having not actually lost the World Title, Rollins really has a unique opportunity to stake claim on a title match and could put together a play on CM Punk’s past by returning with his own ‘real Heavyweight Championship’ to punctuate the point.

2. Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker

With the potential that Seth Rollins could be back in action for the road to WrestleMania 42, it seemed the stage was set for Rollins to return seeking revenge against Breakker.
After an attack from Breakker wrote Rollins off of TV, it seemed as though a perfect place for the showdown could be WWE WrestleMania 42.
However, since Breakker has now picked up an injury of his own, the fight may have to wait for another day.
After Bron Breakker was described as “out of action indefinitely,” after undergoing hernia surgery, it may be quite some time before the former Vision leader and protege square off.

1. Liv Morgan vs. Roxanne Perez

When Liv Morgan was taken out of action due to injury, Roxanne Perez was quick to take over her vacancy in the Judgment Day.
Joining Raquel Rodriguez in WWE tag team action, Perez certainly could have been headed for a major feud with Morgan upon her return – but in the end, they’ve stayed united.
While there remains some simmering tension between Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, it would seem now more likely that they could come to blows in the future, leaving Perez with a choice.
Able to side with either one, it could be a compelling launch of a babyface iteration of Perez or perhaps a turn even further in the opposite direction.
