The successful arrivals of ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page, Ricky Saints and others from AEW to WWE NXT have demonstrated that the leap can work.
With plenty of AEW stars holding a lot of promise but without a lot of TV time, there are a whole host of stars that could benefit from signing with WWE NXT when they’re free to do so.
Here are seven present and past AEW stars that could make debuts on WWE NXT.
7. Danhausen
Fan favorite Danhausen remains absent from AEW TV but active in independent wrestling.
Competing all over the world in his time since he was last spotted at ROH Final Battle – where he made a surprise appearance only the disappear again – Danhausen continues to demonstrate his depth.
A compelling in-ring performer in addition to having a dynamic character, Danhausen was wildly popular in AEW ahead of his disappearance.
It cannot be denied that there is massive potential for hijinks at the NXT Performance Center and it would be fun to see Danhausen wreak havoc!

6. Scorpio Sky
Another AEW face that sometimes gets forgotten about is Scorpio Sky.
While he continues to make appearances in ROH, perhaps it is time for Sky to move on after his current time with AEW ends.
With his past connection to ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page as the Men Of The Year tag team, it would be very fun to see the pair reunite in NXT.
However, Sky is thought to be signed with AEW until around October 2026.

5. Wardlow
Last seen competing against Samoa Joe at AEW Big Business in March 2024, Wardlow has not been in action since.
While his AEW contract status remains a bit unclear, whenever he is free to depart from AEW, many fans hope Wardlow is able to sign with WWE or NXT.
Able to utilize his powerful style against a variety of new opponents, Wardlow could certainly demonstrate more depth if given the time to do so from a character perspective.
Perhaps with an entirely new rebrand or specific character, Wardlow deserves to show that he is capable of more than AEW was able to showcase.

4. Powerhouse Hobbs
Powerhouse Hobbs’ AEW contract term isn’t specifically known but NXT would be an logical place for him to go next in his career.
Easily able to immediately enter the NXT Championship picture against any potential future champion, Hobbs’ dominating presence is exactly what NXT could need in the future.
With the WWE Draft poised to call up some of NXT’s heaviest hitters, it could be a nice segue for Powerhouse Hobbs to arrive whenever his contract is up with AEW.
Hobbs continues to have potential that may be best explored in NXT rather than his current position in AEW.

3. Preston Vance
While Preston Vance seemingly remains contracted with AEW and appears in ROH, he could definitely use a change-up when his current contract is up.
Vance may have hard hitting singles action potential but has mostly been a member of various stables including Dark Order, La Faccion Ingobernable and now ROH’s Frat House.
Perhaps a new start in NXT could yield a different result for the versatile performer, since he can be engaging and amusing in a comedic gimmick but also packs actual power.
While his current Frat House stable is fun, perhaps if Vance is looking to move on, he would consider NXT.

2. Sonny Kiss
Sonny Kiss is another example of a star that found some spotlight in AEW but definitely deserves a chance in NXT.
Despite having departed from AEW, Kiss is still performing, even recently taking on Tasha Steelz in a match on the Jericho Cruise.
Able to compete in a variety of matches Sonny Kiss would be the perfect addition to an already existing character on the roster.
Imagine someone like Kelani Jordan, Jazmyn Nyx or Thea Hail bringing in Sonny Kiss as a new sidekick.

1. Britt Baker
Britt Baker has yet to compete in AEW in 2025 and was only featured in five matches after her return in 2024.
While she has an entire dentistry career to return to in the event she hangs up her boots, Baker may consider signing with WWE NXT.
A trip to NXT for Britt Baker may be exactly what she needs to revive her in-ring career.
While she could continue to explore potential Hollywood options – but with the much more well known WWE brand attached to her name – she could make a thrilling addition to NXT.
