There is no doubt that Roman Reigns and CM Punk have the most intense and personal rivalry heading into WWE WrestleMania 42.

In what is being billed as the greatest WrestleMania of all time, Reigns and Punk have held no punches in getting down to why they hate each other.

With the World Heavyweight Championship up for grabs, both megastars will stop at nothing to get the better of each other, which should lead to a stipulation being added at WrestleMania 42.

Here are six potential stipulations for CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42.

6. Street Fight

The intensity between CM Punk and Roman Reigns have reached a fever pitch in a short amount of time.

With both men wanting to prove who is the best between them, Reigns and Punk should not have to abide by any standard rules come WrestleMania 42.

Giving Punk and Reigns a Street Fight will make the World Heavyweight Championship match at “The Show of Shows.”

A Street Fight will make Reigns vs. Punk one of the most brutal and physical meetings to headline a Mania event in the show’s history.

5. I Quit Match

Roman Reigns and CM Punk are known for many things and one of those being neither man is willing to back down or quit.

Both stars are also known for their signature submissions with Roman finishing opponents with his Guillotine Choke in the past, while Punk’s first finisher in WWE was the Anaconda Vice.

Making their WrestleMania 42 showdown an I Quit Match will make their bout even more compelling.

Punk vs. Reigns in an I Quit Match will prove who the better man is between them and make for an even bigger showdown at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

4. Last Man Standing

Another way to determine who is the best between Roman Reigns and CM Punk is to see who could physically dissect the other to the point they cannot stand.

Both men have very different records and history in Last Man Standing matches throughout their WWE careers.

While Punk has only taken part in one that he lost, Reigns holds an undefeated record going 3-0 in Last Man Standing bouts.

With “The OTC” being unbeaten in the stipulation, it could be a case where Reigns is given the option to choose the match type for this WrestleMania 42 main event.

3. Loser Must Leave Monday Night Raw

During their first in-ring promo exchange on the road to WrestleMania 42, CM Punk was adamant in telling Roman Reigns that Monday Night Raw was his show.

Despite technically being a SmackDown star, “The OTC” has spent much more time on the red brand since the show’s move to Netflix.

Meanwhile, Punk has been on Monday Night Raw since his return to WWE in 2023 and has become the brand’s biggest star.

With Punk wanting to stake his claim for the top spot on Raw and Reigns looking to usurp him, it would make sense if an added stipulation for WrestleMania was that the loser must leave Monday nights forever.

2. Tribal Combat

During his historic 1,316-day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns made one stipulation his speciality, Tribal Combat.

A no-rules, anything goes match that was designed to allow Reigns to get help from The Bloodline, this bout determined who the real Tribal Chief was against the likes of Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa.

In another case of Roman being able to choose his stipulation, this would put Punk at a distinct disadvantage heading into this WrestleMania 42 showdown.

Considering Punk’s confidence when up against Reigns as of late, it feels like Tribal Combat would see if “The Best In The World” really has no fear in him towards “The OTC.”

1. Hell In A Cell

Back at WWE Bad Blood 2024, CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre in one of the most bloody and violent Hell In A Cell matches in recent memory.

Since then, the Hell In A Cell stipulation has not been used in any match on WWE television.

Two years on, it feels like Punk is in the midst of his next personal and bitter rivalry that might stand on par with the one he had with McIntyre.

This could set the stage for WWE to announce the return of Hell In A Cell and make it the main event of WrestleMania 42 with Roman Reigns looking to maim Punk inside the brutal steel structure.
