With Randy Orton turning heel on Cody Rhodes on the road to WWE WrestleMania 42, others could be joining him on the dark side soon.

From major character changes to more subtle shifts, there are some intriguing heel turns that could still be coming before the big event in Las Vegas.

Here are six more WWE heel turns that could happen before WrestleMania 42.

6. Damian Priest

Since his feud with Aleister Black, Damian Priest was in a bit of a limbo until he was volunteered by R-Truth for a brand new role.

With R-Truth snagging he and Priest a spot in the recent tag team turmoil match to determine who would get the next WWE Tag Team Title shot, it turns out that the unlikely new duo would win.

Teaming together since, they seem to be getting along quite well, but could potentially be headed for a dramatic implosion in the future.

Perhaps it will be R-Truth who turns heel on Priest with a vicious betrayal, but it certainly seems more likely that it will be Priest who shifts to the dark side.

5. Sami Zayn

After shaking off Karrion Kross’ previous encouragement to seize his dark side, Sami Zayn now finds himself with another bad influence.

With Aleister Black now  encouraging Sami Zayn to turn heel, it could be that Zayn is finally close to flipping the switch.

From his contemptuous recent interactions with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to his general change in demeanor, it could be that a dark version of heel Sami Zayn is on the horizon.

While his heelishness in the past still had an underdog spirit that endeared fans to him, it might be that a massive betrayal is necessary to cement Sami as someone truly willing to do whatever it takes.

4. Ilja Dragunov

Another person in the WWE locker room who has Aleister Black lurking behind him is Ilja Dragunov.

Having dropped the the United States Championship to Carmelo Hayes back in December, Dragunov has seemingly been in a funk.

With Dragunov that he needs to earn his way back into title contention regardless of Hayes’ continued Open Challenge, Aleister Black remains an antagonizing presence.

Possibly finding himself channeling a darker energy in his quest to return to the top, Dragunov could end up bringing new intensity.

3. Matt Cardona

While he has made several in-ring appearances since returning to WWE action last year, Matt Cardona has primarily featured as a babyface.

Arguably at his best as a heel, Cardona could certainly bring his more devilish persona to WWE with a heel turn.

Since Randy Orton has turned on Cody Rhodes, an interesting ally for Orton would be another real life friend of Rhodes, Matt Cardona.

With Cardona also able to blend fiction with reality in regards to his dynamic with Cody Rhodes, there could be some more betrayal for Cody ahead of WrestleMania 42.

2. Chris Sabin

With Alex Shelley showing compassion for Johnny Gargano over recent weeks – encouraging both him and Candice LeRae that Johnny Wrestling will be back soon – his tag team partner Chris Sabin does not seem to care.

Since Sabin has been irritated by Shelley’s interest in resurrecting Gargano, it could end up being that rather than rolling together, the duo are primed to split apart.

Certainly with a big match still to be had in WWE – Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley – it could be that the Motor City Machine Guns are poised to go against one another.

While of course an agreement could always be worked out, it would be a particularly impressive moment to see both stars really shine in singles action in a way that hasn’t been seen from them in WWE just yet.

1. Bella Twins

While many fans have reacted well to seeing the return of The Bella Twins, it doesn’t mean that they need to play nice or by the rules.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42 could continue to evolve after they’ve seemingly begun a feud with Nia Jax & Lash Legend and Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss.

Potentially having the duo of Bayley & Lyra Valkyria link up once again to give it a go at this year’s WrestleMania, the bout could be a display of a more complex set of female characters in WWE.

With each team set to participate representing a unique position on the spectrum of babyface to heel, more compelling stories could be told by a slightly evil version of the Bellas.
