WWE’s next PLE, Wrestlepalooza, takes place on September 20.
The show marks WWE’s first event to air on the new ESPN platform, part of their latest big-money media deal – and the company clearly intends to kick things off with a blockbuster card.
Already announced are John Cena vs Brock Lesnar, as well as a match for the vacant Women’s World Championship between Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY.
More matches are expected to be added in the coming weeks – here are six of the potential additions.
6. CM Punk & AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch

After a 10-year absence from the company, AJ Lee made her return to WWE on the September 5 edition of SmackDown.
Her return had been predicted all week, ever since Becky Lynch aided her real-life husband Seth Rollins in attacking CM Punk during the main event four-way match for the World Heavyweight Title at Clash in Paris.
While not yet officially announced, arguably the top match at Wrestlepalooza will be the mixed tag bout between the two married couples.

5. The Usos vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed

Jey Uso has been continuing his battle against The Vision faction.
At Clash in Paris, Uso was beaten down while trying to protect Roman Reigns during his decimation at the hands of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.
On Raw the following night, Uso teamed with LA Knight to take on The Vision’s pair of bruisers, and was attacked again after the bell – only to be saved by his brother, Jimmy Uso.
While not yet officially announced, it appears that WWE Wrestlepalooza will see the Usos reunite in a tag bout against Breakker and Reed.

4. Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka

The last month on Raw has seen seeds planted for a feud between Asuka and Rhea Ripley.
In storyline, Asuka – having just returned from injury – appears jealous of the growing friendship between her former Damage CTRL stablemate IYO SKY and Ripley, and now seems about to turn heel on both.
On the September 1 edition of Raw, Asuka told Ripley, “No one is ready for Asuka… even you.”
This match is clearly on the docket, and we could very well see it take place at WWE Wrestlepalooza.

3. Stephanie Vaquer vs. IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez

The Women’s World Title match between IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer was the first bout announced for Wrestlepalooza.
But could this battle for the vacant title – relinquished by Naomi – change before September 20?
In storyline, Roxanne Perez has been campaigning to be added to the match, justifiably arguing that she recently defeated SKY in a singles bout, suggesting she could yet be added to the contest.
Some of the best matches in WWE this year have been three-ways for this very championship featuring IYO SKY – could we see another at Wrestlepalooza?

2. Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley

Recent weeks have seen Bayley absent from in-ring action but involved in a storyline on WWE Raw, where she’s grappling with an inner crisis – torn between her old role as the loveable babyface and her heel persona.
The storyline’s jeopardy lies in which role she’ll ultimately choose: will she return to ‘Hugger’ Bayley or embrace her inner heel?
Lyra Valkyria has been drawn into the story, checking in on her former tag partner to ensure that she is okay.
It appears we’re heading towards a full heel turn for Bayley and a feud with Valkyria – with the first match in what could be a standout in-ring series potentially taking place at Wrestlepalooza.

1. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre

Cody Rhodes‘ first defense of his second Undisputed WWE Championship reign was scheduled for Wrestlepalooza: a big-time bout against Drew McIntyre.
This feud ignited when McIntyre attacked Rhodes with the title on the August 8 edition of SmackDown, delivering his patented Claymore kick and driving Rhodes through the announce table.
While Rhodes was initially expected to compete at Wrestlepalooza, his status is now uncertain due to filming commitments for the upcoming Street Fighter film and recently welcoming his second child.
In Rhodes’ absence, WWE appears set to continue the McIntyre-Orton rivalry with another singles match between the pair at the PLE – with a victory for McIntyre looking likely, firmly establishing him as the number one contender for Rhodes’ title.
