Over the past few years, fans have seen WWE make last minute changes to the WrestleMania card before “The Show of Shows” gets underway.
Whether it be a star being pulled for injury, or a stipulation being added to an announced match, these changes have altered the landscape of WWE for “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
With just over a week away from Mania, there could be some more late changes to the card for the two-night premium live event from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Here are six potential late changes to WWE WrestleMania 42.
6. IYO SKY vs. Asuka Added To The Card
Back in 2025, Asuka returned and wanted to reunite with her former Damage CTRL stablemates of IYO SKY and Kairi Sane.
While Sane was willing to listen to her senpai, IYO had garnered a great deal of success on her own, which caused some jealousy from Asuka.
“The Empress of Tomorrow” has taken offence to SKY trying to convince Kairi that she doesn’t deserve the treatment that Asuka has given her in recent months.
After a challenge in a pretaped promo on the April 6 WWE Raw, it would make sense for IYO vs. Asuka being a last minute addition to the WrestleMania 42 card.
5. WWE World Tag Team Championships On The Line For iShowSpeed & The Vision vs. LA Knight & The Usos
On the March 30 episode of Monday Night Raw, The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory defeated The Usos in a Street Fight to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships thanks to an inadvertent assist from IShowSpeed.
Ahead of this loss, Speed also picked up Paul’s signature brass knuckles and accidentally knocked out LA Knight. This led to “The Megastar” showing up at Speed’s home during a live stream to attack the content creator.
Then on the April 6 edition of Raw, Speed caused another loss for Knight in a singles match against Theory. Post match, Knight and The Usos issued a challenge against Speed and The Vision for WrestleMania 42.
Following their last meeting in Madison Square Garden and wanting to add even more anticipation for this star studded bout, fans could see the World Tag Team Championships on the line in this six-man tag team match at “The Show of Shows.”
4. Liv Morgan Potentially Pulled From WWE Women’s World Championship Match Against Stephanie Vaquer
Over the past few weeks, things have gotten very personal and intense between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer ahead of their WWE Women’s World Championship match at WrestleMania 42.
On the April 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, Vaquer attacked Morgan and Roxanne Perez from behind, leading to The Judgment Day members smashing their heads together.
Following WWE Raw, it was revealed that Morgan and Perez were reportedly in concussion protocol.
Liv potentially being pulled from the WWE Women’s World Championship seems like a real possibility at the moment with just over a week away from Mania.
3. Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar Made Into #1 Contenders Match
One of the most anticipated and hyped matches heading into WWE WrestleMania 42 is Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi.
Over the past few weeks, Femi and Lesnar have been part of some of the exciting segments to build to this Mania showdown.
Considering Lesnar’s legacy and the meteoric rise of Femi, it would make sense for WWE to up the ante of this bout on “The Show of Shows.”
Oba vs. Brock being made into a number one contenders match would position one man to come off of WrestleMania 42 as the star who could be the next World Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night Raw moving forward.
2. CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns For World Heavyweight Championship Made Into A Bloodline Rules Match
CM Punk and Roman Reigns have displayed their hatred for one another in the weeks leading into WrestleMania 42.
It feels like these two megastars having a standard singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship might be impossible.
Considering everything that has been said and done to each other in recent weeks, Reigns and Punk will be hellbent on tearing each other apart in Las Vegas.
Making this World Heavyweight Title bout a Bloodline Rules Match would give Roman and Punk a no rules stipulation that will see them hold nothing back to destroy each other at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
1. Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton For Undisputed WWE Championship Gets Hell In A Cell Stipulation
Speaking of intense rivalries that have escalated heading into WrestleMania 42, this has become even more prevalent between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
After “The Viper” turned on “The American Nightmare,” it feels like these two top stars will fight tooth and nail to walk out as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
For weeks heading into Mania, there have been reports and rumors about WWE adding the Hell in a Cell stipulation to one of the matches on the card.
It seems almost inevitable that Rhodes and Orton could get the Hell in a Cell Match to finally settle the score between the two men at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
