6 Last-Minute Changes To WWE NXT

WWE has already undergone a few changes since WrestleMania 41, and the NXT brand is no different.

With NXT’s biggest annual show, Stand & Deliver, now in the rear-view mirror, NXT is effectively kicking off a new season, just like the rest of WWE.

Here are six potential changes that could be coming to WWE NXT.

6. Multiple Stars Written Off TV

It seems as though NXT is poised to write several stars off of NXT television, presumably in effort to pave the way for their call-up to the main roster.

Set up for the April 29 edition of NXT is seemingly the conclusion of what happened between Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Tony D’Angelo – which seems like a great way to send D’Angelo off NXT TV ahead of a main roster run.

Fraxiom have already been called-up to the main roster after losing the NXT Tag Team Championship to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger at Stand & Deliver.

It also appears more NXT stars will be transitioned off the brand via storyline, as is being done with Giulia and Roxanne Perez on Raw.

5. More Joe Hendry

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry at WWE WrestleMania

While Joe Hendry already had a run in NXT last year, there is every indication that he will continue to factor into storylines moving forward.

After being jumped by Trick Williams after Hendry’s successful title defense at TNA Rebellion, it seems as though Hendry will pop up back in NXT to seek some retribution.

With Hendry making big appearances in the Royal Rumble as well as at WrestleMania 41 in a match against Randy Orton, it seems reasonable that NXT will see a lot more of the Scottish star in the coming months.

After being endorsed by Triple H as one of the future stars of the company, it is clear that Hendry is poised to make a continued impact in NXT.

4. WWE Draft 2025 To Shake-up The NXT Roster

While it is expected that there will be numerous call-ups to the main roster from NXT during the WWE Draft, there should also be moves to NXT as well.

There are a host of main roster stars who would benefit from being drafted to NXT – the likes of Andrade, all three members of LWO who aren’t Rey Mysterio (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro), Zoey Stark, Alba Fyre, B-Fab or Shayna Baszler could all revamp their characters in NXT.

Additionally, it would be fun to see some proper shake-ups such as big names like Charlotte Flair being drafted to NXT or even Chad Gable/El Grande Americano – and then seeing the fallout play out in the coming months.

NXT is a perfect place for character re-invention and it could be the perfect relaunch for characters that could use a bit of refinement.

3. Add TNA Wrestling To Worlds Collide

Already announced is a crossover premium live event called NXT Worlds Collide on Saturday June 7, 2025 – set to feature stars from WWE, NXT and Lucha Libre AAA.

However, it would be fitting if TNA Wrestling was also added to the line-up, making the landmark crossover even more impressive.

Able to feature some fan favorite stars from WWE’s past that find themselves currently in TNA Wrestling like Matt & Jeff Hardy, Indi Hartwell and Nic Nemeth, it would be great to see them compete among current WWE roster members.

While any cross-promotional show with WWE was seemingly a distant dream in the past, in this new Triple H era, it seems more possible than ever that we could see a multi-promotion crossover show.

2. Bring Back The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship

Since the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was unified with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship, the title has been defended across all brands.

However, with there being numerous worthy tag teams in NXT and an impressive women’s division overall, NXT could absolutely benefit from its own specific women’s tag belts coming back.

Easily able to be re-introduced as the prize for winning a Dusty Rhodes Classic tag team tournament, it seems there could be a simple route for the titles to be re-introduced.

Making sure all of the main roster titles have a roughly equivalent NXT title could also make for an interesting future brand vs brand showdown, possibly featuring all three brands similar to Survivor Series 2019.

1. Go Head-To-Head With Raw & SmackDown

Since Survivor Series has transitioned to host the WarGames matches, it has lost the brand vs brand warfare angle.

With the current crop of talent in NXT being undeniably exceptional, it would be incredible to see the three-brand battle from 2019 – which featured Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT – replicated again on some stage.

While the concept wouldn’t have to wait until November for Survivor Series, perhaps with the first ever two-night SummerSlam coming up in August 2025, there could be a slot on the card for a battle to determine brand supremacy.

It would be fun for there to be a big crossover show where fans could see stars from all three brands interacting with one another, including on-screen appearances by Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
