WWE SmackDown’s run on FOX came to an end last week, with the show set to return to the USA Network, starting with this week’s episode.
With this week’s show marking the premiere of the show on the USA Network, a number of big moments could be set to take place, including a number of debuts on the brand.
Here are 6 debuts that could take place at the WWE SmackDown premiere on the USA Network.
6) Lucha Bros

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo are seemingly on their way out of AEW, with them reportedly set to be headed to WWE.
After the initial reports came out, it was noted that the duo were looking to debut on WWE’s main roster rather than the NXT brand.
It’s not known exactly when the pair’s contracts with AEW are set to expire, so it may not be contractually possible, but if they are available, it would be a big moment for the show.
The WWE SmackDown tag team division could use the shot in the arm, or perhaps they could debut as free agents and appear across Raw and SmackDown.

5) Trick Williams

Trick Williams is likely set to be the face of the NXT brand ahead of its move to the CW Network, but that can’t stop him making appearances on the main roster before then.
Williams made a cameo appearance on SmackDown earlier this year ahead of the Royal Rumble, and the crowd reacted rather favourably towards him.
He has also appeared in the crowd on the show recently, and having him make cameos on SmackDown would only elevate his stock heading into the CW Network era.
He could do anything from another appearance in the crowd to screwing Carmelo Hayes in his match with Andrade.

4) Nathan Frazer & Axiom

Nathan Frazer and Axiom are the current NXT Tag Team Champions, and have carried the division on their back this year.
However, with the reported arrival of the Motor City Machine Guns, and the legendary duo expected to be the face of the NXT Tag Team division, the end of Fraxiom’s run on top is seemingly coming.
Even though the pair have been teasing a split recently, moving them up to the main roster as a duo would immediately give another top team to the division.
Have them appear on WWE SmackDown as the champions to help hype up their inevitable defence against the Machine Guns.

3) Roxanne Perez

In a similar manner to Trick Williams, Giulia will more than likely be the face of the NXT women’s division in the CW Network era.
Giulia is set to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship on the debut episode of NXT on the CW, which will likely mark a title change to usher in the new era.
Roxanne is already a two-time NXT Women’s Champion at only 22 years old, including runs as both a babyface and a heel, so there’s really nothing left for her in NXT once her reign is over.
Similar to Axiom and Frazer, debuting Roxanne as the champion to build to her defence, making a much smoother transition to the main roster, would be smart.

2) Joe Hendry

Say his name and he shall appear, and he’s made it abundantly clear that it can happen on any show, not just NXT.
Joe Hendry has exploded in popularity this year, so much so that, even as a TNA wrestler, the main roster WWE crowd would likely give him a huge ovation if he appeared on Raw or SmackDown.
Giving Hendry a came on the debut episode of SmackDown on USA, having him run down some heel (likely Grayson Waller or Austin Theory) and then leaving would create a moment on social media for the company.
Plus, it’ll at least get those main roster fans not familiar with him familiar ahead of a potential surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble.

1) Hikuleo

The New Bloodline is set to introduce yet another new member soon, that being former NJPW star Hikuleo.
Hikuleo, the brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, left NJPW back in June, with him reportedly signing with WWE, who trademarked the name ‘Talla Tonga’, likely to be used by him.
With Solo Sikoa challenging Cody Rhodes in the main event of the show, and the return of Roman Reigns also likely, many expect the OTC to lay waste to the entire Bloodline and stand alongside Cody to end the show.
However, with the Anoa’i Family, you never know when another member is just around the corner…
