WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 will be the final major stop for the company ahead of this April’s WrestleMania 42.
With both the Men’s and Women’s Elimination Chamber as well as two huge title bouts, there will be significant ramifications for this event that will result in what fans see come “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
From new matches being set to title changes, there should be a clearer picture for Mania following the big PLE from Chicago.
Here are six potential changes to WWE WrestleMania 42 after Elimination Chamber 2026.
6. Jade Cargill’s Opponent Confirmed

After Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan chose WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for her title match at WrestleMania 42, fans now know what the competitors in the Women’s Elimination Chamber will be fighting for.
The winner of the Chamber will move on to challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at “The Show of Shows.”
Cargill has proven to be a dominant and feared champion since capturing the title last November, so it should be interesting who walks out the steel structure to be her challenger in Las Vegas this April.
With Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James and Raquel Rodriguez all doing battle, Cargill will have a more than formidable opponent for WrestleMania 42 that will put her undefeated streak at the event at risk.

5. Drew McIntyre’s opponent confirmed

Ever since capturing the Undisputed WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre has been cockier than ever and looking to stop any challenger that gets in his way.
The winner of the Men’s Elimination Chamber will advance to face “The Scottish Warrior” for the top prize on SmackDown at WrestleMania 42.
The field is absolutely stacked with Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Jey Uso battling to get the coveted title shot.
Whatever happens inside the steel structure, fans will know the second main event for WrestleMania 42 after WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.

4. AJ Lee walks into WrestleMania 42 as the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion

On the February 9 episode of WWE Raw, AJ Lee made her return to the company and confronted Becky Lynch.
Ever since making her return to the company in September 2025, Lee has made Lynch’s life a living hell with two separate victories over “The Man.”
After making Becky submit at WWE Wrestlepalooza and Survivor Series 2025, it feels like Lee has all the momentum to win yet again in her adopted hometown of Chicago.
Lee walking out of WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 as the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion would totally change the dynamics of this feud and set the stage for another showdown at WrestleMania 42 with Lynch.

3. New star debuts or returning name arrives as the mystery box is opened

Over the past few weeks, fans have seen a mystery crate showing up backstage on both WWE Raw and SmackDown.
Given the direction to not open until February 28, it looks like Raw and SmackDown GMs Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis will be left with the responsibility of opening the mystery box.
Rumors have been running rampant in regards to what the contents of the box might be when revealed in Chicago.
Whether it be Danhausen making his debut or Chris Jericho returning to the company, fans should get a surprise appearance when the crate is finally opened at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.

2. The Judgment Day turns on Finn Balor after World Heavyweight Title match with CM Punk

Finn Balor will be looking to prove himself as the real “Best In The World” when he challenges CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.
After coming up short in his home island of Ireland on the January 19 WWE Raw, it feels like Balor has been inspired to get himself back into the main event picture by dethroning Punk in his hometown of Chicago.
While Balor might not be able to wrestle away the gold from Punk here, fans should see a major change in his character coming out of this match.
With Balor making it clear that he wants to do this on his own, The Judgment Day might be fed up with his failures and find themselves left with no other choice than to turn on Finn, which could set up an Intercontinental Title match with Dominik Mysterio at Mania.

1. Who will be World Heavyweight Champion to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42

While most fans believe Finn Balor will fail in his latest bid for the World Heavyweight Championship, there is a chance he could walk away with the gold here.
Balor took Punk to his limits in Ireland and could push him even further on February 28.
Punk seems like the odds-on favorite to win this one, but WWE might find that too predictable of a route to go heading into WrestleMania 42.
Wanting to change things up or add some twists to the road to “The Show of Shows,” WWE could go another path and choose to switch the titles more than once on the way to whoever moves on to face Reigns at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
