With less than seven days before the show, there are several changes that could occur ahead of the June 7 show that could shift the way fans anticipate what will happen in LA.

Here are six potential changes to WWE & AAA Worlds Collide 2025.

6. El Hijo Del Vikingo To Defend His Newly Won AAA Mega Championship

At AAA Alianzas on May 31, El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Alberto El Patron to win the AAA Mega Championship.

With this victory, Vikingo will walk into the KIA Forum on Saturday, June 7, holding the top prize in Lucha Libre AAA.

On the May 26 episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE spoiled the result of this championship battle when they displayed a graphic with Vikingo’s match against Chad Gable being for the title.

Now that the expected outcome has taken place, the company can now formally announce that the main event of WWE & AAA Worlds Collide will be for the AAA Mega Championship.

5. Rey Mysterio Made Special Guest Referee For The Main Event

Front and center on the WWE & AAA Worlds Collide poster was WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

Looking back at the original announcement of the acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA, Mysterio was once again at the forefront and interviewed after.

While both promotions would have loved to see the Mexican legend compete at this show, Mysterio is currently sidelined with a torn groin injury.

However, Rey Mysterio should be part of this event and having him serve as the special guest referee for El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Chad Gable for the AAA Mega Championship seems like the best way to feature the legendary star at WWE & AAA Worlds Collide.

4. El Grande Americano To Replace Chad Gable Against Vikingo

To the surprise of many fans, El Hijo del Vikingo will face Chad Gable in the headline bout for WWE & AAA Worlds Collide on June 7.

This was a surprise because Vikingo originally had a confrontation with El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41.

With Americano set to compete in his first match since defeating Rey Fenix at WrestleMania 41 on the June 2 episode of WWE Raw, the company could make a change to the Worlds Collide main event.

Americano taking Gable’s place could allow he and Vikingo to settle their score and have the joint event be capped off by a battle of two lucha libre legends in the making.

3. Lucha Rules Added To Six-Man Tag Matches

WWE & AAA Worlds Collide will see a set of six-man tag team matches on the card.

Legado Del Fantasma will face the unit of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown and Pagano, while LWO will square off with the AAA trio of Aero Star, Mr. Iguana and Octagon Jr.

This pair of trios bouts should embrace the Mexican culture and get the Lucha Rules stipulation, meaning tags are not required and a new participant can enter the ring when their partner’s feet touches the floor.

With this stipulation, the fans could enjoy some exciting and thrilling action through these multi-man showcases.

2. AAA Battle Royal For A Spot In Money In The Bank

Several popular names from the Lucha Libre AAA roster have not been announced for the Worlds Collide event as of yet.

With this show serving as a showcase for the Mexican promotion, there should more representation on the card.

Announcing a battle royal would help to bring over more talent from Lucha Libre AAA and should also have something at stake to add to the intrigue.

Considering the WWE Money In The Bank 2025 event will take place the same day, the company could announce this battle being for an opportunity to enter the men’s or women’s Money In The Bank ladder match later that evening.

1. Four-Way For The NXT North American Championship Given Elimination Stipulation

On the May 27 edition of WWE NXT, Ethan Page defeated Ricky Saints to win the NXT North American Championship.

Page did not waste any time to start bragging about his win before Je’Von Evans, AAA’s Laredo Kid and SmackDown’s Rey Fenix all came out to announce a four-way bout for the title at Worlds Collide.

To add the unpredictability of this title bout, WWE could announce an elimination stipulation for this four-way battle.

With the winner having to go through all three men, there should be an undisputed champion coming out of this clash with it being used as a display of the victor’s dominance.
