6 AEW Factions Splitting Up

Share

AEW's Death Riders

AEW has seen its fair share of factions breakup over the years, and heading into 2026 it seems as if we could see a few more casualties.

These groups seem like they are heading towards some splitting up in the weeks and months to come.

Here are six AEW factions to potentially split up.

6. The Death Riders

Ever since losing the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas 2025, Jon Moxley has experienced a significant downfall.

Whether it be saying “I quit” to Darby Allin at AEW WrestleDream 2025 or tapping out to Kyle O’Reilly twice at Blood & Guts and Full Gear 2025, Moxley feels like he is down on his luck now more than ever.

Following his loss to Claudio Castagnoli in the Continental Classic, it seems like fans could be seeing a major development within The Death Riders.

Now that he has suffered numerous losses, it might be time for The Death Riders to split from Moxley and excommunicate their former leader for good.

5. MIT

While not always making an impact in All Elite Wrestling, the group known as MIT have been atop of Ring of Honor for several years now.

Wanting to help those minions who want to be like her, Athena started MIT with Billie Starkz and Lexy Nair being her first trainees.

Despite still having Starkz under her wing, Athena has recently brought Diamante into the group, putting Billie’s status with MIT in question.

Now that Athena has once again put a spotlight on the failures of her protege, Billie could finally have enough and split from MIT where she can go on to finally dethrone “The Fallen Goddess” to end her historic run as ROH Women’s Champion.

4. Shane Taylor Promotions

Another group that has been featured on AEW and regularly highlighted on Ring of Honor Wrestling is Shane Taylor Promotions.

Taking over the Ring of Honor brand, 2025 has been a huge year for STP with Lee Moriarty making history as the longest reigning ROH Pure Champion in history and Taylor alongside The Infantry winning the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles.

While they have achieved a lot of success as of late, Moriarty notably had a falling out with his leader Shane Taylor following his win over Nigel McGuinness in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match at ROH Final Battle 2025.

Lee Moriarty splitting from Shane Taylor Promotions should be coming in 2026 and see him break out on his own to potentially elevate up the ladder to ROH World Title contention.

3. LFI

LFI has garnered their most success to close out 2025 with Sammy Guevara and The Beast Mortos becoming ROH World Tag Team Champions at Final Battle 2025.

Guevara originally held the titles with RUSH, but the LFI leader suffered an injury that sidelined him and forced him to miss ROH Final Battle.

While RUSH has long been the leader of LFI, his absence has seen Sammy Guevara taking more of a power position within this stable.

When RUSH makes his return, he may find himself pushed out of his own group with Guevara taking the leadership role officially and splitting the former ROH World Champion from La Faccion Ingobernables.

2. Bang Bang Gang

On the December 17 Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite and Collision, the Bang Bang Gang will challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Over the past few months, the Bang Bang Gang has had some significant losses with both Jay White and Colten Gunn being sidelined with injuries.

In their absence, Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn have become a prominent duo in the AEW tag team division, while Ace Austin has started to establish himself as a singles performer in the company.

While the three remaining members have done a good job of holding things down, the longer wait for White and Gunn to return might lead AEW to decide to split Bang Bang Gang once and for all.

1. Don Callis Family

There is certainly no group that has the mere numbers and size of that of the Don Callis Family in AEW today.

Having upwards of 14 different members, Callis has assembled one of the most talented and athletically gifted competitors in one stable that fans may have ever seen.

With Kazuchika Okada currently embroiled in some tension with his stablemate Konosuke Takeshita, this story could see some consequential structure changes for this expansive faction.

Callis could decide to side with Okada over Takeshita, which could see the very first member of the Don Callis Family split from the unit and go out on his own in a mission to take down his former stablemates.
