A former WWE star has responded to a rumour that a WWE Hall of Famer once nixed a John Cena championship victory.
Before John Cena became the never seen 17-time World Champion, he was the Doctor of Thuganomics on the SmackDown brand with his sidekick B2, played by former WWE star Bull Buchanan.
During their time as a pairing, Cena and B2 had entered a rivalry with Los Guerreros, with a rumour emerging about the angle.
It had been rumoured online that there were plans for Cena and B2 to defeat Eddie and Chavo Guerrero for the WWE Tag Team Championship during the rivalry, but the plan was nixed due to Eddie not wanting to put over Buchanan.
Speaking to 99.9 Punk World Radio FM’s Elite Wrestle Talk, Bull was asked about the rumour, noting that he did hear rumours that he and Cena may win the titles, but as far as he is aware, the story regarding Eddie nixing the title change was not true.
He said:
“I saw that, I honestly don’t know, I always thought we had good matches with Eddie and Chavo.
“I had heard a rumour, you hear so much stuff you never know, I heard that there was some talk of maybe putting the Tag belts, but it was because we were working a program with Chavo and Eddie, so if you’re working a program with somebody, there’s always speculation, but I don’t know.
“I’ve seen that, I don’t know, maybe if someone knows more than I do, but I always thought we had good matches with them. I never, me and Eddie never had any cross words or anything like that, we were always pretty cool, so, somebody might know more than I do, but as far as I know no.”
