A WWE legend has praised Becky Lynch for putting over Maxxine Dupri in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match on Raw.

Dupri defeated Lynch for the IC Title this past Monday at Madison Square Garden after Lynch was distracted by the return of AJ Lee.

Dupri still only has about 50 matches to her name in her career, compared to Lynch who has over 1000.

Speaking with TMZ, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry praised Lynch for being willing to drop the championship to a relative rookie like Dupri.

He said:

“I thought it was awesome. You know who I praise the most for it? Becky Lynch. I have so much respect for Becky Lynch. Because she could have said no.

“When you’re building the future of pro-wrestling, you have to have some giving involved to make that happen. She did that and didn’t have the boo-boo face. Looked like a million bucks out there doing it too.”

Lynch is expected to join the heel women’s WarGames team at WWE Survivor Series made up of the Kabuki Warriors, Lash Legend and Nia Jax.

Meanwhile, the returning AJ Lee looks likely to join the babyface side, which is currently made up of Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
