Former WWE Star Reacts To MJF’s AEW Return

A former WWE star has reacted to MJF’s return on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, inserting himself into the championship picture.

MJF’s appearance on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw him cash in the Casino Gauntlet contract, guaranteeing him a world championship match.

With MJF seeming to have a renewed purpose, he will face AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland at Worlds End on December 27.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the former Dolph Ziggler reacted to MJF cashing in and asked a question about the upcoming title match, while looking at the future direction of the Salt of the Earth, saying:

“So you get this great segment with the top stars in the biz, and I go… and I was like ‘man, everybody said their piece pretty damn well.’

“And, then, you get the extra bonus of the return of MJF. The place loses their minds, rightly so.

“He comes out there. They’re all laying it down, Rocky movie-style, with real-life monologues, and he comes out and does Don Rickles. Zing somebody, zing somebody, zing somebody. ‘I’m gonna win the whole damn thing, later, marks,’ and then walks out. And, you’re like ‘oh sh*t, that was even better than I thought.’

“And, it’s like, there is something special… It really made me think. One, it was great. The entire… I had no notes on the segment whatsoever, but it really made me think, I go ‘if MJF doesn’t win this one, when does he win?’

“He was a dick the whole time, but he even goes ‘I’m signing the thing now, and I’m coming to beat all of you, so you have no excuses.’ So, in a dickish way, he’s doing the action hero part where he goes ‘I’m going to be beat all of you fair and square, and I’m letting you know I’m coming.’

“This is great. So, it’s like, it’s nice tweener MJF, so you get the dickhead moves, you get the cool response, and then he nonchalantly says ‘I’m going to fight really hard and try to pin everybody because I want to be the best one’; that’s babyface stuff, great gray area, so you don’t know and maybe he wins it in the worst possible way or maybe he earns it and you get to bet on MJF for the next six years.”
