A former WWE star has made the pitch for Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) to face off against John Cena on Raw in Madison Square Garden.
John Cena has just 4 dates remaining on his WWE retirement tour before he retires from in ring competition on December 13, those being Survivor Series, Saturday Night’s Main Event and two upcoming Raw shows on November 10 and November 17 from Boston and Madison Square Garden, respectively.
With just four dates left, Cena only has at maximum four matches remaining before he retires, with Dominik Mysterio expected to be his opponent at Survivor Series, while Gunther is reported to be his opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
It has not yet been confirmed if Cena will wrestle on his two remaining Raw dates, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about potential opponents running rampant.
Speaking to KVIA ABC-7, TNA’s Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) pitched for Cena to face off against Matt Cardona on the Raw show in Madison Square Garden, while also pitching for Washington DC native Batista to face off with Cena in his hometown for Cena’s final match.
He said:
“I know there’s a Madison Square Garden match, I wouldn’t mind seeing Zack Ryder or Matt Cardona show up for New York.
“When they get to D.C. maybe Batista. Who knows it could be anybody from the past or someone new. When it comes to his legacy and his career you can do a year and not get to anybody.”
