Dominik Mysterio has commented on being John Cena’s penultimate WWE opponent at Survivor Series 2025 tonight.
Mysterio challenges Cena for the Intercontinental Championship at tonight’s premium live event in Mysterio’s hometown of San Diego, in a return match from Raw in Cena’s hometown of Boston a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking on the WWE Raw Recap preview for Survivor Series, Mysterio was asked about the enormity of the situation of being the second-to-last person to ever wrestle John Cena.
In typical Dominik Mysterio fashion, he downplayed the occasion as “just another Saturday,” saying:
“At the end of the day, this is just another Saturday for me. I have main evented Survivor Series before. This is just another day in San Diego, California.
“So, I’m gonna wake up, I’m gonna have me a California burrito probably from Ortiz’s Taco Shop. Maybe even have a midday snack, some In-N-Out burger. Maybe some chicken tendies. I might save the tendies for the celebration afterwards.
“But at the end of the day, this is just another Saturday for me. John should be thankful that I was willing to make the end of his career meaningful, to give him the opportunity to become a Grand Slam champion.
“And honestly, I didn’t even give him an opportunity – it was handed to him. I’m very, very lucky that I was able to get a rematch because management loves some John Cena.
“I’ve had four WrestleManias already. This last WrestleMania, I won the IC Title. I’ve won the AAA Mega Campeonato, that’s a pretty big deal. NXT North American Championship twice.
“I would definitely rank this up there, I don’t know if it’s the most important.”
