An AEW star reportedly suffered a torn biceps during a championship match on the Wednesday, January 28 episode of Dynamite.

Last night’s AEW Dynamite featured an AEW World Tag Team Title match between reigning champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and the Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis and Jake Doyle.

During the match, Doyle would be on the receiving end of a DDT on the ring apron from Cash Wheeler, and was audibly heard stating:

“I just tore my biceps.”

The injury has now been confirmed by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, who confimed that Doyle did in fact suffer the injury:

“He did in fact tear his biceps.”

At the time of writing, it isn’t clear how long Doyle will be pout of action, but we will provide updates when more information becomes known.

Previously known as Jake Something on the independent wrestling scene and in TNA Wrestling, Doyle signed with AEW earlier this month.

Doyle’s debut saw him team with the returning Mark Davis, claiming a bounty that had been put on the heads of JetSpeed by Don Callis and Ricochet.

WrestleTalk wishes Jake Doyle well in his recovery from this injury.
