With reports of WWE interest in several AEW stars becoming free agents this weekend, there could be some big debuts at SummerSlam 2025.
While some have already made their way to WWE from AEW and are awaiting a main roster debut, others have just come into free agency yesterday.
Here are seven former AEW stars that could potentially make their debut at WWE SummerSlam 2025.
8. Paige (Saraya)

Potentially a return being saved for the 2026 Royal Rumble, it would still be legendary to see Paige make an unexpected appearance at WWE SummerSlam 2025.
Able to align reasonably with a variety of women in current day WWE, she could link up with former Total Divas co-stars Natalya or Nikki Bella – or even prove to be a mentor in her own right.
With Paige being able to assemble her own faction of young talent, she could prove to be a formidable foe to the women’s division.
Being the perfect faction leader that could usher in new call-ups from NXT – we could definitely see Paige make a huge mark on the coming months of storylines in the women’s division.

7. Wardlow

In a curious case of an AEW disappearance, Wardlow has been out of action since March 2024.
While Tony Khan had recently shared that Wardlow was considered to be brought back in January 2025, his upcoming filming for the American Gladiators reboot led to a delay.
However, filming recently wrapped on the series – which is hosted by WWE star The Miz – and still Wardlow has yet to return to TV.
Perhaps another case of riding the bench until his contract expires, it could be that we see Mr. Mayhem appear in a WWE ring sooner rather than later.

6. Kylie Rae

Ahead of SummerSlam, there have already been some new WWE champions crowned this weekend.
Kylie Rae became the inaugural WWE ID Women’s Champion by defeating Zayda Steel & Zara Zakher in a three-way, while Cappuccino Jones won the WWE ID Men’s Championship with a win over Jack Cartwheel.
Rae made headlines in 2019 as one of the original women on the AEW roster before leaving the promotion after only a few months.
By crowning her the first ever ID Women’s Champion, it appears WWE has intentions to sign Rae full-time, and the company could showcase her – and the ID program as a whole – by having her appear at SummerSlam this weekend.

5. ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page

Since arriving in NXT from AEW, ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page has been on a remarkable run.
Capturing both the NXT Championship and the NXT North American Championship during his time in NXT, he is certainly a star that seems main roster ready.
With a few different spots that he could potentially fit – including in Seth Rollins’ faction, as reports noted that he was internally pitched for a spot – he could also see himself aligning elsewhere.
Potentially becoming the sidekick to Cody Rhodes, Rhodes could keep his hands clean and maintain plausible deniability while Page does all the dastardly dirty work.

4. Matt & Jeff Hardy

In a case of WWE stars turned AEW stars that could be back again – Matt & Jeff Hardy are currently contracted with WWE partner promotion, TNA Wrestling.
However, there is a perfect reason for the iconic duo to be at SummerSlam 2025, even if only for an on-screen appearance.
In an homage to the legendary first official TLC match at SummerSlam 2000 that featured the Hardy Boyz taking on Edge & Christian as well as the Dudley Boyz, SummerSlam 2025 will also feature a TLC match.
Potentially able to fill in if a last minute change is needed or even make an on-screen appearance to help (or hurt!) one of the teams in contention – it would be great to see the WWE return of Matt & Jeff Hardy at SummerSlam 2025.

3. Ricky Saints

Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Ricky Saints has already made a big impact in NXT since joining WWE in February.
It has always seemed that he would only have a short stay at the Performance Center, especially after his NXT North Amewircan Championship reign came to an end.
Potentially waiting for the right storyline to launch him on the main roster, Saints could find himself in the right place at the right time for the first-ever two night SummerSlam.
With reports that Saints was internally pitched to join Seth Rollins’ faction before Rollins’ injury, perhaps now the group needs his charisma and style more than ever.

2. Danhausen

While SmackDown fans were delighted by the debut of AAA stars Mr Iguana and Psycho Clown on the episode before SummerSlam, there is a proof of concept for the potential arrival of Danhausen in WWE.
With rumors that there is interest in him – given his well-defined gimmick and TV experience – the fan favorite could definitely make an impact at SummerSlam.
After recently posting to social media in different face paint, it could be that Danhausen is testing out a non-trademarked style for his WWE debut.
Perhaps the perfect fit for an interference against Logan Paul on behalf of Jelly Roll, there are plenty of heels that could be cursed by Danhausen by the end of the weekend!

1. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) have been absent from AEW TV since January when they dropped the titles.
With reports suggesting that they could be free agents already – it could be possible they make their debut at SummerSlam 2025.
While the duo seem tailor made for NXT – with their TV ready characters and style – they could always pop up on the main roster as well.
As potential backup for anyone on the card who could use a pair that are well versed in shenanigans and hijinks, Private Party is poised to bring the fun wherever they go next.
