While sometimes controversial amongst fans at first, there are several WWE stars that could undergo name changes.
Whether the new name is related to an entirely new character or simply abandoning a bygone piece of their lore, sometimes a fresh start makes total sense.
Here are six WWE stars that could undergo name changes.
6. Tonga Loa – Caesar Sikoa

Don’t think that we forgot that WWE trademarked the moniker ‘Caesar Sikoa’ back in June 2024 – because we didn’t!
With Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu seemingly headed towards inevitable conflict, it may be time for some name changes.
The most intriguing potential could be for Tama Tonga to split off and go with Fatu but keep his name. However, upon the return of Tonga Loa from injury, he instead sides with Solo Sikoa.
Revealing that he has taken the Sikoa surname, Tonga Loa could immediately position himself in a new light and as a more threatening force.

5. Zelina Vega – Zelina Black

While WWE fans continue to anticipate the return of Aleister Black to the roster, he will once again become a colleague of his wife, Zelina Vega.
With them working alongside each other, many fans have suggested the idea of them becoming an on-screen pairing, meaning there’s potential for Zelina to take on Aleister’s last name.
With Zelina to utilize her in-ring abilities in a variety of settings in support of her man, the pair could become an intriguing counterforce to other mixed tag duos on the WWE roster.
There is a lot of potential that Vega has yet to be able to showcase in WWE but potentially partnered again with a singles star will give her the chance to shine.

4. Maxxine Dupri – Sydney

While everyone else has moved on from the Maximum Male Models gimmick, Maxxine Dupri has sort of been stuck with the last remnants of the faction.
After LA Knight was able to ditch the Max Dupri character and the pair of Mace and Mansoor took their services to AEW, perhaps it is time for Maxxine to get a rebrand as well.
Often mentioned glowingly by her fellow WWE stars as a hard worker and all around good person, they typically use her ‘shoot’ first name Sydney.
While WWE could add some kind of zippy and alliterative surname, she could also go simply by a single name moniker similar to her Alpha Academy stable mate Otis.

3. Kiana James – Delilah Rockefeller

The name chosen here really is not great, but you get the idea – old money first name, any classic American tycoon last name (except for maybe Trump).
Since she was drafted from NXT to the main roster, there wasn’t a lot of storyline for Kiana James ahead of taking time off due to injury. When she is able to return to in-ring action, it would be a great time for a rebrand.
With her NXT character being portrayed as a real estate baddie and overall boss, she could return to that style of character but ramp it up.
Turning up the trendy old money aesthetic aspect and the entitlement, James could capture the delightfully infuriating parts of the NXT 2.0 Tiffany Stratton rich brat gimmick.

2. Braun Strowman – “The Big SOB” Braun Strowman

While this has not been done in a while, it actually kind of works when it works.
Although the “Freakin” in between Seth and Rollins doesn’t do a lot for his character, both “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and “Big” Bronson Reed have added an additional element to them.
That being said, a slight shift in branding for Braun Strowman (and not really, since he already has Big SOB merch) would be to make the moniker official.
Rather than “One Big SOB” or “A Big SOB”, specifically noting that Braun Strowman is THE Big SOB in WWE could add a little something new to his character to sell some more merch!

1. Rusev – Miro

While it seems widely assumed that the former WWE star Rusev is likely to return to the company after his recent stint in AEW, what hasn’t been confirmed is his name.
It may make sense for him to return to his former moniker of Rusev, but actually, the timing marks the perfect occasion to craft a brand for himself in WWE.
Similarly to Shawn Spears, perhaps Miro would be able to debut in WWE under the name he used last in AEW.
Unlike Spears though, who wrestled independently with the name – Miro is actually a shortened version of the Bulgarian’s real name, Miroslav. Actually, “Miroslav Day” has a nice ring to it!
