With continual movement in professional wrestling, it could be that there are several WWE stars set to leave the company soon.
John Cena is set to retire, and there have been a couple of notable departures as of late in Andrade and Jazmyn Nyx.
Here are seven more WWE stars that may be poised to leave the company.
7. AJ Styles

One current WWE star that had an illustrious career in professional wrestling before even joining the company is AJ Styles.
Well known for his past work in TNA Wrestling and NJPW, Styles has accomplished a great deal in the industry.
With some recent speculation based on Styles’ own comments that he’s be winding down his in-ring career – the departure could be a retirement rather than hopping to another company.
Set to face off against John Cena at the upcoming Crown Jewel Perth, Styles could be in the early stages of his own WWE farewell tour.

6. Shinsuke Nakamura

Another potential departure from WWE could be multi-time United States and Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura.
Nakamura hasn’t been seen in WWE action since June when he lost in a King of the Ring four-way match.
He remains active on the WWE roster page and has been seen in the background on SmackDown for the past few weeks.
Potentially looking to retire soon as well, Nakamura has had an accomplished career in the industry and therefore might be looking to hang up his boots entirely.

5. Apollo Crews

Despite not seeing any in-ring action since January 2025, Apollo Crews is still under active contract with WWE.
His absence is related to having torn his pectoral muscle during his last match against Johnny Gargano on SmackDown.
While he subsequently underwent surgery and participated in intense rehab as he posted about on social media, there has been a recent update that could be promising of an in-ring return.
However, with Crews regularly noted as one of the most underutlized talents in WWE for 10 years now, there’s always a chance of him seeking success elsewhere.

4. Corey Graves

After a recent vicious assault on Corey Graves by Brock Lesnar, Graves has been off of TV.
Similarly to Wade Barrett recently taking some scheduled time off, it is entirely possible that Graves’ WWE absence was pre-planned.
However, Graves has noted in the past that he has actually been medically cleared for in-ring competition for years.
Returning to the ring to take a series of damaging F5s from Brock Lesnar could be a way to write Graves out of WWE… or possibly to write him back into active competition.

3. Dragon Lee

While it came as a bit of a surprise at the time, Dragon Lee revealed at a AAA event in December 2022 – after having beaten FTR with tag team partner Dralistico – that he had signed with WWE.
He debuted in NXT and then joined the main roster from there, but has failed to feature as prominently as fans may have expected.
Potentially looking to depart WWE when his current contract with the company expires, Dragon Lee definitely has some connections in AEW.
Dragon Lee’s real life brothers Dralistico and RUSH continue to wrestle Tony Khan’s company, so a move there can never be ruled out.

2. Akira Tozawa

One underrated member of the current WWE locker room is Akira Tozawa.
Recently taking to social media to post a photo of himself in a match with Dragon Lee, Tozawa added a caption musing about his future.
He wrote, “I wonder how many more matches my body can handle”, leading fans to wonder if he was alluding to potential retirement.
With veteran abilities as well as inherent likability, Akira Tozawa could be looking for a fun farewell tour before retiring.

1. Tamina

An update on Tamina‘s status came about in relation to the WWE all-female premium live event, Evolution in July 2025.
It was reported that Tamina Snuka remained under contract with WWE but was not listed on any internal roster, assigned to a brand, and was not a regular backstage presence at events.
Fans were hopeful that the Evolution battle royal may have offered the opportunity to see her wrestle again.
However, no such luck as there wasn’t any surprise appearance from Tamina. She was last seen in WWE action in 2023 but no information regarding the length of her current contract was reported.
