With GUNTHER retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event – he may be looking to recruit a new faction.
Potentially in need of back-up on the way to SummerSlam, GUNTHER could be looking to assemble a brand new line-up for his faction, Imperium.
Here are six WWE stars that could join a brand new version of Imperium created by GUNTHER.
6. Tyler Bate
Tyler Bate has been back in action Main Event, teaming with his New Catch Republic tag team partner Pete Dunne – but has yet to find a main roster storyline since returning to action.
With both Bate and Dunne representing many of the virtues that conceivably GUNTHER would be looking for – namely, propensity for violence – it would be a further departure for Bate than Dunne.
Bate has been mostly positioned in his most recent work in WWE as a babyface, potentially making a heelish swap to GUNTHER’s Imperium dark side even more interesting.
Potentially able to play up his own moral conflicts throughout the partnership, Bate’s character could stay a fan favorite even while committing dastardly deeds.

5. Ilja Dragunov
Ilja Dragunov was last seen in WWE back in September 2024 when he picked up an injury during a house show match against GUNTHER.
Suffering a torn ACL, he was initially reported to be out of action for between six to nine months but has been spotted training at the Performance Center.
With some rumors that Dragunov could be returning to action sooner rather than later, The Mad Dragon may be the ideal addition to a new Imperium.
Able to match GUNTHER in strength as well as intimidating presence, the combination of the two would be incredible to unleash on the WWE locker room.

4. Pete Dunne
Potentially the most logical fit to join forces with GUNTHER and take a turn into true heelishness would be Pete Dunne.
Able to demonstrate a high level of technical skill as well as brutality, Dunne could be an incredible utility for GUNTHER.
With a demonstrated history as a solid enforcer in the Brawling Brutes, the latest iteration of Dunne (unlike Butch) could be positioned as a highly psychologically threatening character.
If anyone could pull off the creepy sociopath gimmick – it might be Dunne.

3. Ludwig Kaiser
While it seems incredibly obvious – since Kaiser was already a part of the original iteration of Imperium – there is a clever current hiccup.
Ludwig Kaiser seems to look and move incredibly similarly to El Grande Americano as of late – as Chad Gable is clearly out of action due to injury – and another ‘mystery man’ has taken over the role.
It is very clearly Ludwig Kaiser in the El Grande Americano get-up but it could be an incredible side storyline to see Kaiser have to continue to do stunts to keep his identity a secret.
With potential demands from GUNTHER leading him to even more stress – it might just be an enjoyable side quest for Kaiser who has already embraced his amusing new role.

2. Axiom
While still keeping in step with his search for European excellence, GUNTHER may consider Spanish born star Axiom – who was featured in NXT UK as A-Kid.
After having impressed in NXT as Axiom, the high flyer now finds himself on SmackDown in a tag team with Nathan Frazer after having dominated the division in NXT.
However in an interesting twist – GUNTHER should not want to recruit Nathan Frazer.
Leaving Fraxiom in potential ruin over needing to decide between his tag team partner and the potential opportunities that could be afforded by being attached to Imperium – there could be stories branching out of GUNTHER’s offer.

1. Charlie Dempsey
If GUNTHER was scouting in NXT, one potential recruit that he would need to consider is Charlie Dempsey.
With clearly exceptional in-ring skills, Dempsey could easily be matched up with the new version of Imperium and be the latest target for GUNTHER.
In the reverse of the role he is currently playing – as the somewhat harsh leader of the No Quarter Catch Crew – Dempsey would instead be set to be humbled by GUNTHER.
Able to slowly build to Dempsey eventually breaking free of the faction to forge his own path – by that point possibly even reuniting with Myles Borne or Tavion Heights on the main roster – there could be a career defining story incoming.
