WWE Stars To Be Repackaged

WWE stars Berto, Austin Theory and Ludwig Kaiser

While there are some WWE characters who grow in fan support organically, others are seemingly stalled at the present moment.

From those who have been off of TV to others who are still around but seem to be missing something to launch their character in into the fans’ imaginations – some WWE stars could stand to be repackaged.

Here are eight WWE stars that could benefit from being repackaged in WWE.

8. Ludwig Kaiser

While GUNTHER has achieved singles success and third member Giovanni Vinci was released by WWE, Ludwig Kaiser has remained on WWE Raw but without a clear direction since the end of Imperium.

Other than appearing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Cup Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania, Kaiser has been relegated primarily to Main Event matches.

However in an intriguing update, both GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser posted Instagram stories suggesting they were in Italy – albeit not together.

Perhaps looking to reboot the Imperium faction, there could be a newer and more dangerous version of Ludwig Kaiser as yet to be revealed.

7. Legado del Fantasma

A team that benefited from having been featured on the AAA x NXT PLE Worlds Collide – Legado del Fantasma (Angel, Berto & Santos Escobar).

Bringing together a powerful new version of Legado del Fantasma – perhaps more reminiscent of the former group from WWE NXT albeit without the defined leader  – could be an important shift in their presentation to capture the attention of more fans.

While the reinvention process is seemingly underway, it hasn’t been made into a big storyline yet on SmackDown.

In the crowded SmackDown tag team division, perhaps Legado del Fantasma can carve out their own Lucha based space.

6. Dragon Lee

While Dragon Lee delighted audiences in NXT, his current main roster run has failed to take flight in terms of singles successes.

Since Rey Mysterio remains out of action due to injury, a variation of LWO that featured Dragon Lee and Cruz del Toro teaming with Lince Dorado in a losing effort at Worlds Collide against AAA’s Aero Star, Mr. Iguana & Octagon Jr.

Perhaps with more emphasis on Lucha style in WWE, there could be a shift in Dragon Lee’s character to bring him into more focus.

While it could be that Lee’s storyline awaits the return of Rey Mysterio (particularly if he were set to turn heel on his mentor), maybe he could just go after new fan favorite Mr. Iguana instead to expedite the process.

5. Tony D’Angelo

Seemingly set to be called up to the main roster in the WWE Draft 2025, Tony D’Angelo could use a character refresh for the switch.

While his Don of NXT character has been successful, if he were to transition to the main roster without any of the members of the The Family (seemingly down to questionably Luca Crusifino and Adriana Rizzo), it would seem there would need to be a shift.

Perhaps looking to recruit new members to a main roster crime family, D’Angelo could depart from the mob themed character entirely.

An alternate intriguing thought is adding him to the Seth Rollins led faction that currently contains Bron Breakker and Big Bronson Reed as another enforcer for their Visionary squad.

4. Pretty Deadly

A tag team that could benefit from a slight refresh in their overall presentation would be Pretty Deadly.

While there is a crowded men’s tag team division on WWE SmackDown – including the Street Profits, The Wyatt Sicks, #DIY, Fraxiom, Los Garza and the Motor City Machine Guns – Pretty Deadly gets a little lost in the shuffle.

While the overall gimmick from Elton Prince and Kit Wilson should not by any means disappear, they could use a repackage in terms of how they’re presented in order to re-engage fans after TV absence.

Having lacked the opportunity on the main roster to demonstrate that they can in fact be both pretty and deadly – the duo would benefit from being able to show off their more vicious side.

3. Wren Sinclair

While her time in WWE NXT has primarily been with the No Quarter Catch Crew – Wren Sinclair’s personality and in-ring abilities have been on display throughout.

However, of late it seems that Sinclair has been without a clear path forward in the singles division in NXT despite having made an impact in her limited number of matches.

With a lot of untapped potential, Sinclair could benefit from going her own way from the faction as well – with Myles Borne already departing.

Time will tell how the NXT women’s division settles out with some big names like Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia already departing and others like Jordynne Grace also seemingly set to be drafted in 2025 – perhaps making more room for Wren Sinclair to shine.

2. Austin Theory

After a series of backstage segments have featured obvious dissension within A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) being instigated by the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods), it seems perhaps a break-up could finally be happening.

Although breaking up another tag team may seem arbitrary, the length of this slow burning storyline seems to suggest there is something bigger on the horizon for specifically Austin Theory.

With a split, a new version of Austin Theory could be free to emerge and enter a major program with John Cena – only this time, as a babyface.

Few characters in WWE could benefit from interacting with the departing John Cena more than Theory who would be able to utilize the rivalry to potentially finally be launched as a babyface on the main roster.

1. Ilja Dragunov

Potentially set for a return sometime in the near future, Ilja Dragunov has been off of WWE TV since September after sustaining an injury during an untelevised match.

Ahead of the injury though, he was seemingly positioned as a potential babyface rival for GUNTHER.

Because the character’s intensity and ambition lend to being presented as either a heel or a babyface – perhaps the return of the Mad Dragon could be as a heel.

With probably more compelling feuds on the horizon if he were to return as a heel rather than a babyface, Dragunov’s impressive in-ring skills make him a fan favorite either way.
