WWE returns to NBC this weekend for Saturday Night’s Main Event which is set to feature John Cena, but plenty of other top stars didn’t make the card.
From storylines that would have made sense to continue on the event to others who could still end up making a surprise appearance, there are some big names left off the event at present.
Here are five stars that aren’t set to appear on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
5. Roman Reigns
After Roman Reigns was betrayed by Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41, Heyman would stand by as Reigns and CM Punk were then assaulted by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker at the Raw after Mania.
Entirely absent from WWE TV since Las Vegas, surely the Tribal Chief has been processing the events that have unfolded since.
While he seemed to be a logical partner for CM Punk to take on Rollins and Breakker, it would end up being Sami Zayn who took on that role.
Now that CM Punk is teaming with Zayn to take on Breakker and Rollins at Saturday Night’s Main Event, maybe Reigns will end up making a surprise appearance, but it would be rare for WWE to not advertise him ahead of time, so we’ll likely have to wait a bit longer for his return.

4. Cody Rhodes
Recently there was some hope that perhaps Cody Rhodes would make an appearance at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Fans held out hope a match would be announced when arena advertisement continued to feature him for the May 16 edition of SmackDown, but no such luck – the American Nightmare was, and is, still missing.
While Rhodes continues to be featured on the poster for the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank 2025, he has remained off TV to this point.
However, popping up at Saturday Night’s Main Event to help R-Truth beat John Cena would be a great way to return, so we’ll have to wait and see what unfolds.

3. Randy Orton
After failing to topple Cena at WWE Backlash earlier this month, Randy Orton has yet to make an on-screen return.
While Orton’s match against John Cena at Backlash 2025 was for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Cena’s bout with R-Truth will be a non-title affair.
Seemingly paving the way for a number of options for Cena to get some comeuppance after his recent dastardly ways, perhaps Randy Orton will cost Cena this match.
However, here won’t be any official action for Orton on the card, so we’ll have to tune in to find out of he makes a surprise appearance.

2. Tiffany Stratton
It will seemingly not be Tiffy Time in Tampa, Florida for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
After she was able to successfully retain her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 and then Nia Jax on SmackDown last week, Tiffany Stratton’s next battle may have to wait for Money in the Bank.
There are currently no announced matches for SNME that feature the women’s division, so Stratton is in good company as there also won’t be any matches for other women’s champs: IYO SKY, Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria or Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.
With so many compelling performers, hopefully there ends up being a way to see some female storylines being featured.

1. Becky Lynch
While ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch made her big return at WrestleMania 41, she has yet to appear on an edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
At time of writing there are no women’s division matches announced for the show, but perhaps some female talent could make an appearance.
Lynch continues to feud with Lyra Valkyria, with the Intercontinental Champion most recently costing Becky a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Bayley remains absent since Lynch’s backstage attack cost her the chance to perform at WrestleMania 41. Since Becky has taken credit for the assault, it seems highly likely that there will be a future feud with Bayley that could perhaps be set up at SNME in some kind of angle since there isn’t a women’s match on the card.
