With the anticipated return of GUNTHER to WWE, The Ring General could be employing new back-up in the form a new faction.
From more stars that have been out of action due to injury that could make their surprise returns alongside GUNTHER to others who could use the opportunity to be called up to the main roster – there are some exciting possibilities.
Here are seven WWE stars that could join a new GUNTHER faction.
7. Tony D’Angelo

Back in July, it appeared that Tony D’Angelo was written off NXT TV in a Sopranos-esque final segment.
He has not been seen since, but the expectation was that this would lead to a WWE main roster call-up.
D’Angelo could be rebooted on the main roster as a legitimate threat alongside GUNTHER other aggressive new allies recruited by The Ring General.
Possibly being included as evidence that GUNTHER is willing to work more outside the realm of his typical staunch nature, the group could use Tony D’s street smarts to find unique solutions to their problems.

6. Ilja Dragunov

While it could make sense for Ilja Dragunov to make his return as a babyface and resume feuding with GUNTHER – after over a year out of action, there could be a more interesting spin.
After tearing his ACL during a live event match against GUNTHER in September 2024, the Mad Dragon has been out of action since.
While there have been rumors of his impending return, there has yet to be an official word on when and how the former NXT Champion is expected to return.
Still able to make a surprise return into any storyline, Dragunov and GUNTHER could make for a devilish heel alliance.

5. Tyler Bate

Another potential surprise return to link up with GUNTHER could be that of Tyler Bate. While he hasn’t seen in-ring action in WWE since May, fans were wondering if he was potentially injured.
However taking to social media in early July, Bate clarified at the time that he wasn’t injured but was rather “waiting” – perhaps to return to a new storyline?
Although he was last presented as a babyface on the main roster, Tyler Bate could easily switch to the dark side to link up with GUNTHER.
Bate has actually reemerged under a mask recently as an accomplice to El Grande Americano, but that has yet to be officially ‘revealed’.

4. Pete Dunne

Pete Dunne hasn’t seen WWE in-ring action since May – but made an appearance in GCW where he defeated Jonathan Gresham back in August at Bloodsport.
Potentially waiting for his next big storyline, Dunne would be a great addition to a stable featuring GUNTHER. Able to showcase his uniquely vicious offense, Dunne is a reliable heel who can be convincingly frightening both inside the ring and out.
If GUNTHER were to be accumulating an international alliance of threats in WWE, Pete Dunne would be the perfect snag.
Like Tyler Bate, he took has been used as a masked accomplice for El Grande Americano as of late.

3. Charlie Dempsey

If GUNTHER was looking to recruit from NXT, one incredible pick-up could be Charlie Dempsey.
Since most of the other members of the No Quarter Catch Crew have ditched him as their mentor, perhaps he could go looking for a new mentor of his own.
With the capacity to be violent and unrelenting in his technically savvy offense, Dempsey could become an entirely new iteration of heel under the guidance of GUNTHER.
Bringing about a new intensity for Dempsey alongside GUNTHER could be the perfect way to introduce the son of William Regal to the main roster.

2. Uriah Connors

Uriah Connors is a fourth generation wrestler that could absolutely fit right in with a new GUNTHER stable.
While Uriah Connors is active in NXT, involved in the ongoing Chase U story with Kale Dixon and Andre Chase, perhaps a unique opportunity could come calling.
Boasting a lot of experience despite his relatively short time in the company, Connors could make a flip to being presented far more seriously on the main roster.
Formerly competing in the indies under the ring name Brogan Finlay – as he is the real-life son of Fit Finlay – his impressive pedigree could be reason enough for GUNTHER to look to recruit him.

1. Santos Escobar

While Santos Escobar continues to appear with Berto and Angel and found recent invigoration in AAA, the storyline hasn’t really caught fire on SmackDown.
Instead perhaps it is time for Santos Escobar to strike out on his own by uniting with another powerful force in WWE in GUNTHER.
Potentially making a new version of the League of Nations stable, instead of simply being focused on taking over one brand in WWE, GUNTHER could take his quest for power worldwide.
Bringing on board Santos Escobar to rule on behalf of the Ring General in AAA, GUNTHER would extend his reach even further.
