WWE Stars To Turn Babyface

With several stars officially turning heel both at and following WWE WrestleMania 41 there are extra spaces open on the babyface side of the roster.

Restoring balance to WWE, Triple H has numerous options of which heel stars could lean in to their softer side and become  beloved babyfaces.

Here are seven WWE stars who could turn babyface.

7. Finn Balor

While he has been a heel for several years as a member of Judgment Day, Finn Balor used to be quite a beloved babyface when in singles action.

After losing his shot at the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 and witnessing Dirty Dominik Mysterio winning it instead – Finn Balor doesn’t seem super enthusiastic about his current spot in WWE.

Seemingly poised to split with the rest of the Judgment Day – Finn Balor could easily establish his own group of babyfaces.

The perfect recruit for babyface Balor would be his recently returned tag team partner…

6. JD McDonagh

WWE's JD McDonagh making his entrance.

JD McDonagh suffered a brutal injury during a match on Raw in January, that being broken ribs and a punctured lung, leading him to take time off of television in the build to WrestleMania.

However, when JD McDonagh made a return on WWE Raw after WrestleMania 41 to help save Dominik Mysterio from losing the Intercontinental Championship to Penta, Balor seemed out of the loop.

When it was clear that Balor wasn’t impressed, McDonagh looked to be confused – amping up the possibility that while the pair of JD and Finn will remain united, they could depart the rest of the squad.

Finn Balor seems pretty clearly frustrated in the Judgment Day at this point – so breaking free and turning babyface for both of the stars actually makes sense, however, WWE could easily go the other way and have Dominik’s side of The Judgment Day turn face instead, leaving Finn, JD and perhaps even Carlito behind.

5. Jacob Fatu

Despite besting very popular WWE star LA Knight to capture the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41, Jacob Fatu still received a raucous reception from the crowd.

Definitely a standout since his arrival in WWE, Fatu has gained a following over time that is hard to ignore.

Since the audience is already very supportive of Jacob Fatu, WWE could go all the way by making him a proper babyface – doing so perhaps by taking on the perennially booed Solo Sikoa.

With both Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga out of action due to injury, the last two members of the new Bloodline could definitely do battle to end their spin-off faction for good.

4. Austin Theory

While it seems as though fans have been expecting Austin Theory and Grayson Waller to turn on each other forever – maybe they wouldn’t even need to split to see Austin Theory turn babyface.

Already often serving as the voice of reason to Grayson Waller’s more hot tempered reactions, Austin Theory could continue to turn babyface – by getting one over on Waller.

So far in their dynamic, it has been mostly Waller causing misfortune for Theory but if the ribbing was to turn the other direction, he could be standing in for the fans who want to poke at Waller.

Austin Theory’s last singles victory came in January 2024 – giving him some singles victories would be a great temperature check for fans’ perception of the previously highly touted star.

3. Asuka

After being out of action due to injury since May 2024, there is potentially another surprise return headed for WWE – that being The Empress of Tomorrow Asuka.

Having been out of action for so long, it may be easy to forget that she was technically a heel upon her departure.

However, it would make complete sense for Asuka to return as a babyface now and rejoin Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai – or come back at the same time as another injured star.

Asuka’s Kabuki Warriors tag team partner and fellow Damage CTRL member Kairi Sane recently provided a positive recovery update, potentially teasing her return could be coming soon as well.

2. Omos

WWE's Omos

Omos hasn’t seen WWE in-ring action since last year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – but he sadly did not make a surprise return over WrestleMania weekend this year.

In the event Omos returns to WWE TV, it would be really great to not only see him as a babyface but also to allow him to show some of his real personality.

With a compelling personal story as well as having a genuinely witty and charming personality in media appearances – Omos seems like someone who could definitely be a crowd favorite, with many fans genuinely clamoring for his return.

Perhaps a move to NXT would give him a chance to show off more of a light hearted side and could be the perfect thing for his character.

1. Carmelo Hayes

After a compelling rookie year on the main roster, Carmelo Hayes’ character may be due for a shake-up.

Demonstrating the ability to portray both babyface and heel, Hayes is enjoyable in both roles.

Winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41 and getting a positive crowd reaction – now could be the time to turn babyface.

While we can always hold out hope that Trick Williams’ recent disgruntled attitude in NXT will carry over to a main roster call-up and reunion with Carmelo Hayes – we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the 2025 WWE Draft.
