Finally leaving Las Vegas after a monumental WrestleMania, this week’s WWE SmackDown comes from Fort Worth, Texas.
The post-WrestleMania show will undoubtedly feature some major shifts in the landscape as we head towards the upcoming PLE, Backlash.
With the Raw-after-Mania being the best in recent years, SmackDown has a lot to live up to – and debuts, returns and potential in-ring bangers seem all but guaranteed.
Here are five changes we could expect to see on SmackDown this week.
5. The Lucha Bros Unite

When Rey Fenix finally joined WWE last month, he was placed on SmackDown rather than being reunited with his brother and tag team partner Penta on Raw.
With both brothers failing to find singles success at WrestleMania – and Penta losing to Dominik Mysterio on this week’s Raw – it now feels like the right time to reunite the Lucha Brothers.
On SmackDown, there’s the potential for standout matches with DIY, Motor City Machine Guns, and Tag Team Champions The Street Profits.
The Lucha Brothers have been one of the greatest tag teams of the past decade, and could soon be wowing the WWE audience.

4. Classic In The Making?

Speaking of tag teams, this week’s SmackDown promises a TLC WWE Tag Title match between champions The Street Profits, DIY, and the Motor City Machine Guns.
There’s a lot to live up to with this match type – three-team TLC bouts have produced some of the most iconic and memorable moments in company history.
All three teams were left off the WrestleMania card, so they’ll be eager to make an impression and deliver in what could be a breathtaking contest.
Alongside the Lucha Brothers, these teams have the potential to kickstart a hot period for tag team wrestling in WWE.

3. Charlotte Flair Challenges Stephanie Vaquer?

One memorable moment of Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton’s heated WrestleMania bout was Flair hitting the Devil’s Kiss – one of NXT Champion Stephanie Vaquer’s signature moves.
Michael Cole on commentary specifically mentioned that Vaquer might have something to say about it, and Vaquer herself did post a tweet about the comparisons.
Could Flair be laying the groundwork for a future showdown with the NXT Champion?
After already appearing on Raw this week, a Vaquer debut on SmackDown could set up this marquee bout.

2. Aleister Black Makes His WWE Return

After a four-year absence from the company, SmackDown could soon welcome back Aleister Black.
Known for his crisp striking offence and unique presence, Black is an excellent performer with big-show charisma.
His previous WWE run – under Vince McMahon – failed to capitalize on his potential, but things could and should be very different under Triple H’s regime.
A return feud with Cody Rhodes, echoing their AEW clashes, would be the perfect way to reintroduce him to the WWE audience.

1. ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu Ascends

Jacob Fatu had a stellar showing at WrestleMania, one that underlined his undeniability as a future main event star.
The Las Vegas crowd were firmly behind the “Samoan Werewolf” as he captured the WWE United States Title from LA Knight.
As a result, a Fatu face turn and feud with Solo Sikoa could be looming, fueled by Sikoa’s jealousy over Fatu’s breakout moment.
The post-Mania season could – and should – see the proverbial jetpack strapped to Fatu’s back.
