After having suffered a vicious attack at WWE Clash in Paris 2025, it seems that Roman Reigns is poised for a lengthy absence.
With Clash in Paris writing Roman Reigns off of TV for the foreseeable future, seeing him stretchered from the ring – there could be room for a new top star to emerge.
Here are six potential replacements for Roman Reigns.
6. John Cena

John Cena may have limited appearances left at WWE TV but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be some filmed segments that boost his profile during these final months.
Since Cena is wrapping up his farewell tour, it would make sense for him to become a focal point across both WWE Raw and SmackDown.
Similarly to how in the past there have been episodes anchored by backstage stories revolving around Roman Reigns, Cena could see some more interaction with other names on the roster.
Potentially taking up the task of going against Seth Rollins and The Vision, Cena could also simply serve to give the main character energy that will be absent without Reigns.

5. The Rock

One way for the The Final Boss to re-integrate into WWE to facilitate a future bout against Roman Reigns would be his presence to grow in Reigns’ absence.
Potentially looking to step in to halt The Vision’s rule over WWE Raw, The Rock could have a vested interest in keeping Rollins in check.
There could conflict simmering without either Rock or Reigns on TV – The Rock’s name was even thrown about as having had influence over certain decisions made by the Bloodline members like Jimmy & Jey Uso,
With a potential showdown between the pair in the future still considered a massive potential future WrestleMania main event, seeds could be planted now to end up harvested at a later date.

4. LA Knight

One name that could absolutely expand to occupy more space on the WWE roster is LA Knight.
With the absence of Roman Reigns, LA Knight may be able to utilize his star power to continue to wage war on The Vision.
Able to potentially join forces with Jey Uso in their efforts to topple Seth Rollins’ faction, Knight would be able to hold his own as well as work within a team.
Potentially forming some sort of babyface alliance with Jey Uso and possibly even CM Punk, Knight could end up a major player in the feud.

3. Jacob Fatu

Having grown organically in popularity through his own unique character, Jacob Fatu seems headed for massive things in WWE.
After having disappeared from WWE TV after losing his steel cage match against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam, Jacob Fatu isn’t actually out of action.
Recently making appearances at house shows teaming with both Jimmy and Jey Uso, perhaps there is a new Bloodline alliance forming.
With the group of Jacob Fatu, Jimmy & Jey Uso and potentially a returning Tama Tonga able to wage war against The Vision or the MFTs, there could be still be more showdowns left between the groups.

2. CM Punk

Even with the threat of Roman Reigns eliminated, Seth Rollins still has one mortal enemy left to contend with in CM Punk .
Unlikely to give up his quest to take down The Vision easily, Punk also has yet to get any retribution on Paul Heyman after his iconic betrayal at WrestleMania 41.
Potentially picking up the mantle of fighting back The Vision, Punk could assemble his own next generation stable.
Able to recruit intriguing prospects from NXT like Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo, there could be new faces flanking Punk to take on Rollins in the near future.

1. Jey Uso

Having already proven himself as Main Event Jey Uso, the former World Heavyweight Champion seems like a potential successor to Roman Reigns on WWE Raw.
Able to mature even further in his storyline in the Bloodline, Jey Uso could take on an even bigger leadership role within the group.
Making for an interesting juxtaposition, Uso could have to face conflict within the group in Reigns’ absence, giving him a full picture of what it means to be a Tribal Chief.
Continuing to wage war against Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins and The Vision – a Jey Uso led iteration of the Bloodline could hold down the fort until the return of Roman Reigns.
