With news breaking of Andrade’s WWE departure, the company may need to make changes to their creative direction without the former AEW star.
After linking up with fellow lucha star Rey Fenix and seemingly on the verge of a big new storyline – the show must go on with Fenix now in need of a replacement for Andrade.
Here are five potential replacements in WWE for Andrade in his tag team with Rey Fenix.
5. LA Knight
While the news of Andrade departing WWE was recently broken – hints of his potential exit are now more apparent with hindsight.
One such potential clue came via the recent set of house shows leading up to Clash in Paris, which saw the Wyatt Sicks’ Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis have multiple clashes with an intriguing tag team – Rey Fenix and LA Knight.
Seemingly temporarily plugging in LA Knight in what may have been previously booked to be Andrade’s slot – the detail aligns with reports that Andrade’s alleged wellness policy violation derailed a big creative plan set for the star and Fenix.
The pairing seems unlikely to make the leap to TV however with LA Knight featuring on WWE Raw with whilst Fenix remains on SmackDown.

4. PENTA
They have yet to debut together in WWE but Rey Fenix and PENTA are not just real life brothers – they’re decorated tag team champs in promotions worldwide!
Since it seems Rey Fenix is now in need of a replacement partner, it could be time to pull the trigger on bringing the team together.
While it is the most obvious choice – it also may not be the best storyline choice to reunite the Lucha Bros in WWE right now unless there is a clear path forward for the team creatively.
If perhaps the duo were to topple the Wyatt Sicks in a match in AAA to immediately capture the WWE Tag Team Championship upon their reunion – it could work!

3. El Hijo del Vikingo
One star from AAA that has already made an impact in WWE is El Hijo del Vikingo.
Having already appeared on screen with Rey Fenix before, it could be that El Hijo del Vikingo is positioned as Fenix’s new partner on SmackDown.
Since Vikingo just lost the AAA Mega Championship to Dominik Mysterio – it could be that he is looking for his next challenge, including a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship with Fenix.
Making a dynamic pair, the team could definitely dominate in the SmackDown tag team division.

2. Dragon Lee
Another WWE star that could benefit from a fresh start is Dragon Lee.
While he has continued his alliance with the LWO, Dragon Lee hasn’t made quite the impact on the main roster as he did in NXT.
Perhaps forming a new tag team with Rey Fenix could help reignite his presence and the pair could take on Judgment Day for the WWE World Tag Team Championship in AAA.
Avoiding bringing Rey Fenix to WWE Raw to cross paths with PENTA – using AAA as a buffer makes complete sense since Judgment Day already pops up in AAA frequently.

1. Rey Mysterio
In what could be a powerful alliance of two different generations of luchadores- perhaps Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio could link up.
With both having a presence in AAA, the duo could be ready for action across brands in WWE or the international promotion.
Since Pagano and Psycho Clown have recently reclaimed the AAA Tag Team Championship from WWE’s Angel & Berto – it could make more sense for the super alliance of Fenix & Mysterio to also seek to target Judgment Day.
With the pair making a formal tag team for at least a short time – there could certainly be a case to be made for the duo to pick up the WWE World Tag Team Championship.
